Opcode #3 - State: Berserking

IESDP does not describe what this effect does so I decided to have a closer look at it. I should also note that according to NI this effect has three different modes but I noticed no differences: 0 Default, 1 Always Active, 2 Blood Rage.


A character that has this effect applied to him does not automatically go berserk, although STATE_BERSERK is set. If a hostile creature is within view, however, berserk sets in and the player loses control of the character. The character continues to fight until no hostile creatures can be seen. After a round or so, the player regains control. Occasionally, the character may attack neutral creatures (e.g. when no hostile creatures are visible and berserk is still active).
