Reinstalling Widescreen mod error

The first time I installed it it worked flawlessly, but the resolution was too high and i couldn't read the text. So i reinstalled widescreen mod changing it to a custom resolution, and my guess is that it isn't supported by my graphics card driver (NvidaGo 7700, proprietary to ASUS G1 laptop) because it would boot up but the graphics where all bugged out (looked like, 8-bit color? lol) anywho here is the debug:

Ahh poopoo, I forgot to mention the error occurs when trying to change back to a working resolution.

So I

installed widescreen mod, worked fine

reinstalled with different resolution, game would run but with unplayable graphics

tried to reinstall a final time and I always get the above bug.

I actually just visited the forums to look for a solution to the weird 8-bit-ish kind of graphics where only the upper left 800x600 of the game screen seem to be shown in fullscreen (windowed works fine, btw.)

I even got there for the exact same reason you did - couldn't read anything on 1680x1050, then tried 1440x900, still too big, and now I'm on 1280x800 and it bugs out like that. :/ So if someone has an idea about that problem once TehJamma's problem is solved, I'd greatly appreciate it. Until then, I'll play windowed.

Hey-oh! Didn't try windowed, seems to work. At least I can kill some wolves now and hope someone comes up with a fix ???

Well, you could always take the hills approach and uninstall the whole game... then clean the game directory(delete everything in it!), reinstall the game, remember to patch it, start a new game at it, and after the game makes the quick save, exit. And then you can install mods, like the Widescreen mod... but think first before you do this mistake!!! Always install the Widescreen mod last... well almost last, the .exe hacks might go after it but NOT the GUI changers...
