Hello and thanks in advance for any help.

When I try and run the widescreen executable, v2.31, I get about a third of the way in and suddenly there is a DOS BOX with the following in it:

[C:\Program Files\Black Isle\BGII - SoA\setup-widescreen.exe] WeiDU version 2130

0

ERROR: Unable to find DIALOG.TLK in:

dialog.tlk

Please run this program in your Infinity Engine game directory.

FATAL ERROR: Failure("Unable to find DIALOG.TLK")

Press ENTER to exit.

I do not have a directory called "Infinity Engine" that I can find.

Can you tell me potentially what is going wrong?

If it helps, there is my file structure:

HD0:=C:\Program Files\Black Isle\Planescape - Torment\

CD1:=E:\CD1\

CD2:=C:\PTDISK\CD2\

CD3:=E:\CD2\

CD4:=E:\CD2\

but I do only have the 2 disk version of the game, and yes, disk two, per full install, is not in Program Files because of permissions, but as you can see, I was able to change the .ini file. I run Windows7 with a GT460 Nvidia graphics card.

My email if you want is mattglenrose@gmail.com

Thanks again,

matt

Well, make the proper full install and not just a hack out of it, so install the game into different folder, to avoid the permission problem !

So if the C is your only hard drive, then install it like this:

[Alias]
HD0:=C:\Games\Planescape - Torment\
CD1:=C:\Games\Planescape - Torment\CD1\
CD2:=C:\Games\Planescape - Torment\CD2\
CD3:=C:\Games\Planescape - Torment\CD2\
CD4:=C:\Games\Planescape - Torment\CD2\

This is after you have copied the whole content of the both CD's into the proper places in your hard drive and modified the Torment.ini ...

That's how you do it.

And if you need to have the HD0 pointing to the location where the dialog.tlk is ...

The original instructions in here should have pointed out to this:

HD0:=C:\Games\Planescape - Torment\
CD1:=C:\PTDISK\CD1\
CD2:=C:\PTDISK\CD2\
CD3:=C:\PTDISK\CD3\
CD4:=C:\PTDISK\CD4\

For the 4 CD model ... but people like yourself apparently fail to understand.

OK, tried this and get the same exact problem. My new directory looks like this:

[Alias]

HD0:=C:\Games\Black Isle\Planescape Torment\

CD1:=C:\Games\Black Isle\Planescape Torment\

CD2:=C:\Games\Black Isle\PTdisk2\CD2\

CD3:=C:\Games\Black Isle\PTdisk2\CD2\

CD4:=C:\Games\Black Isle\PTdisk2\CD2\

Just as you would have me do it. Gives me the same problem. Any other suggestions, or did I do something wrong without realizing it?

Thanks again,

matt
