Easy tutu playing over internet

So the time has come and i covinced my girlfriend to play Baldurs Gate with me. I have done some reading about playing over net and figured that it will not be an easy task.I tryed ingame method of conecting.We have the same version of the game since i copied my folders to her hard drive.I can make game, but she cannot conect,and she cannot make game becouse in menu where you enter game name and pass, she can only click cancel.Cannot enter game name or click new or load game.She disabled win fire wall on xp by adding exeption for Bg exe, and i done the same on my norton firewall.I dont know much about networking, but i tryed to ping her ip from cmd prompt but all packages were lost.Is it normal or? Have you tried using Hamachi? (Don't worry, it's free.)

 

The other thing: If you're playing BG/BG2 multiplayer, it helps to make a clean install and install exactly the same mods and exactly the same components of those mods as your girlfriend. I'm not sure if this is mandatory, but it might be.

I tryed hamachi, but for some reason it wont connect to hamachi server for me, i am offline that is. I will try hamachi later, if i could not conect via game. We both have same version because i just copied my files to her computer, also i red somewhere that it is best way to be sure that both have exactly same version
