Map screen - not optimized for higher resolutions?

I noticed that with the widescreen mod installed, the area map doesn't "stretch" to the corners of the screen.

 

I know that the load screens in general are not optimized to work with all resolutions (as stated in the "Common Problems" thread), but shouldn't the map at least stretch to the corners of the menu screen? As it is, it's really hard to pin custom notes accurately to the map. Just a minor annoyance, but still.

 

For reference, I'm running BGT with the BWP. I have the mod resolution set to 1365x767 (just 1 pixel off my native resolution so I can play in windowed mode) -- could that be causing the problem?
