I saw this post and figured I woudl chip in as I've had a similar crash in a couple of other fights, but it doesn't happen every time.

 

When I pull Rededge up in NI I find:

1st: Doom, Sanctuary, Armor of Faith, Resist Fearx2, Bless

2nd: Hold Personx2, Silencex3, Draw Upon Divine Might

3rd: Unholy Blight, Animate Dead, Cure Disease, Gust of Wind, Remove Paralysis

4th: Cloak of Fearx2, Poison, CCW, Free Action, Defensive Harmony

5th: Slay Livingx2, CC

6th: Sol's Orb, Physical Mirror

7th: Gate

 

I've used (or had used against me) all of those in my game with SR/SCS except for Poison. And I just tested poison with no crash.

A couple of things I found while digging. Plath is racially a female human cleric with a female elf cleric sprite. I SKed a 'copy' of her down to the exact setup and can't duplicate. When I use CreateCreature she always casts Physical Mirror followed by what seems like Poison (I checked by watching the distance she closed to my character and then tried casting poison myself, didn't have to budge). I think it's worthy of note that she casts in that order every single time I loaded her (about 10 times so far). When I faced her party in the game I probably didn't experience this due to either slapping her with Hold Person / Chaos or hitting her out of the spell.

 

One of the things I found is she has one too many 4th levels spells memorized for her level, and one too few 3rd level memorized. When setting up my dummy copy of her I added spells in the order they were listed in NI. Upon my SK edits when I added Defensive Harmony, the extra spell I needed, I found Poison was bumped to a non-existent spell slot. Is there any way that could be causing the issue?

My list is slightly different, but yeah, looks like Poison is the culprit.

 

1st| Doom, Sanctuary, Armor of Faith, Resist Fearx2, Bless.

The same error again. Now in De'Arnise Hold Outdoors, northeast of the bridge.

This time crash comes seemingly out of blue, with no enemies in sight. A buggy spawn pehaps?

I will investigate further.

 

Yep, looks like a spawn bug. A group of random trolls is created there. Some groups cause a crash while others do not.
