SCS v28 won't install on Easytutu, which version is most stable?

So I have a bunch of mods and the only one that gives me grief is sword coast stratagems. I have seen numerous reports that v28 is problematic with easytutu but I read in some problem threads that earlier versions might work. Since I would prefer to NOT reinstall the entire tutu and modlist until I find a version that works, I wonder if anyone else has encountered this and know of a stable version of SCS that works with easytutu. I think I read somewhere about a user who went all the way back to version 21, can anyone confirm if that's the best way to do this?

I have the same problem with installing stratagems v.28 on EasyTuTu and stick with v.21 at the moment. And I've made the whole *completionist* walkthrough of the trilogy with v.21 and some more mods without any issues.

there are some good improvements in the component parts of SCS v28 compared to v21, if you edit a few lines of WeiDU v28 installs fine on EasyTutu and personally I find the improvements worth the effort. I documented a few things I had to change to get it installed in the v28 release thread.
