Spell Creation Issue

Hi,

 

i tried to integrate the Spell "Timestop" from BG2 in IWD 2.

 

I copied the data into a new IWD 2 spell, fortunately DLTCEP let me choose the "time Stop" effect in IWD2, too.

 

But when i activate the spell ingame, the game chrashes. Is the time stop effect not available for IWD 2, although i find it in DLTCEP?

 

Unfortunately i couldn't find a mod which includes the BG2 spells into IWD2.

The latest Near Infinity gives the effect opcode #231 to be "Unknown" in the IWD2 data base... yeah, the iesdp data base says it's to be the Time Stop opcode BUT, it's unlikely actually in the game, as the table is probably mainly a clone from the BG2 one. And the DLTCEP takes the info from the iesdp.

I suspected it allready, otherwise i assume there would be more spell-mods for IWDII, i haven't found any.

 

It's a pity, there are so many intereting spells in BG2, like the chain and emergency spells.

The description of opcode 231 in dltcep (if you use the right effect description file). should read as "This effect was removed from IWD2."

So, yeh, you can't use the timestop opcode in iwd[2]

And is it possible to copy the effect from BG2 to IWD2 or ist this impossible?

It is impossible, because the effects are game dependent(or the game based engine dependent).
