Baardhaas
As per 2nd edition rules, when a bear has an attack roll of 18 or more he makes a hug attack for additional damage. Is this actually implemented? Combined with the faster bears component, it would make them serious opponents. No more slow lumbering free xp walking around the map. edit: some spelling mistakes Link to comment
Fiann of the Silver Hand
No, because only clumsily through scripting can a creature attack with multiple weapon types (like claw/claw/bite), or with special results like you're describing. Someone is currently revising the critical hit system for weapons; maybe if it expands to include creatures, things like this could be implemented. Link to comment
Baardhaas
Thanks for clearing that up. Link to comment
subtledoctor
A cheap-but-effective way to simulate it might be to give bears a bonus for chance to score critical hits... (Yeah that wouldn't hurt characters with helmets, but on the other hand if you're wearing full plate, I bet a bear's "hug" couldn't really hurt you either. So this seems like an acceptable substitution.) Link to comment
