disappearing His name 'Kivan'

Hello, first I wish to thank everyone here for the most greatest mod I ever used!

and brought one of my favorite chars from BG1.

that's soo enough but even I got good romance too!

 

I'm enjoying the mod but having one problem ( not serious though.)

 

whenever I got any dialogues from Kivan,

He talks well but their no his name 'Kivan - ' at first part of texts.

-next to the portrait in dialogue window.

 

and when he levels up it shows like " - Level up " and no name there neither.

 

ex))(other npcs)"Minsc - level up"

(Kivan)" - level up"

 

So whenever he talks, I feel quite difference with this going.

 

I installed just 2 mods - Kivan & Kelsey.

 

I haven't met Kelsey yet but just in case I full-re-installed BG2,

then only installed Kivan this time, but it still goes that way.

 

Forgive my English, I'm not good at it.

Wish you'd understand

I have not encountered the problem with the name not showing up. Would you be able to zip up one of your saved games and send it to domi_sotto@gibberlings.net ?

 

I'll take a look and see if anything is amiss. You might also try to put a cursor over at him and press "Ctrl+K" - I think, Idobeck added a fixing option...

Thanks for your kindly reply. I found this problem was from BP I once installed.

There's a lot more NPCs whose name isn't showing only blank info scrolled.

(They are once additional NPCs of BP)

I don't know why these guys still existed after uninstall/reinstall BG2 without BP.

strange heheh (and even met totally different Kivan at Uma Hill )

 

I found there's no name listed for Kivan in Shadow Keeper.

Could fix it and it's ok now ^_^ I think it was my fault anyway.

 

Thanks again but I think I've to ask one more question.

 

I installed v5(linked to here) but Kivan actually saying is only "aahhhhuuu" (Kivan20.wav)

and doesn't say anything when I click him or order to move except the one.

Is it no problem? or just me can't hear any voices from him?

 

oh,,! I didn't know there's no romance between Kivan with female PC going yet.

I' been sad because he only talks about Deher-Dehera- hehheh

 

anyway It's really good to have Kivan back in my party,

so it's never boring to play after once cleared to end.

Soundfile-wise - can you check your override folder and see if you have a bunch of kivanxx.wav files, where xx is 01, 02 etc?

Yes I have those files named Kivan01.wav,Kivan02.wav,.....,Kivan41.wav and KivanBG1soundset.g3 plus.

(something should be done with this?)

If the files are there, then at a wild guess, I think, that the sound files became somehow 'de-associated' with his set, in the same mysterious way as his name got lost from his CRE file

 

Another possibility is that not all of his soundset lines are voiced, as I am using his BG1 soundset that does not correspond 100% to BG2. He only has the following lines voiced - the ones that have the soundfile in [] after it.

If some of the lines that should have had voice do not, I am not sure what to advise as a simple remedy - I assume that a reinstall does not work - but I will ask around and let you know.

Frankly say, I don't know anything about codes you showed me above..

I'm really not good at those programming thingies..

(though I recognize some lines I don't think I have in kivan01-41 wave files..)

 

So I'm asking..

Would you have time to check my save file again when you are not busy at all?

 

I think something wrong with my saved.

ther's something remains of Bp or other mods.

But I can't find it..

 

I moved only save files to another computer and start playing there,

but it does same.
