Ok so I killed the slavers, and got the map and the note, Amber is gone and when i try to use the map all it has is that i cant use it that i need to identify a familiar place to use it, whats the familiar place. what should i do now?

You'll just need to identify the map (using Lore or the Identify spell) to figure out what the map refers to, i.e. to identify a familiar place on the map so that you can start finding your way to the "X".
