on how to counter it. Suggestions?

Remove your eyes? Only then can you remove the veil of lies and deceit clouding your lives. After that, you can joyfully serve the Elder Orb, and it won't need to imprison you.

Must I be imprisoned at every turn!? You will suffer! You will all suffa!

  2. The Cornugons + Pit Fiends that ambush you after dealing with Anadramatis and obtaining the Breath Potion go at each others' throats without even a look the party's way. As soon as they spawn they begin attacking each other and it's possible to just stand there until the only survivor is left, who will then attack the party.

My party had Protection from Evil on at the time, but I did a quick test by resting before triggering the event and it made no difference.

I imagine it might have something to do with the Blood War, because Cornugons are demons and Pit Fiends are devils? 😕

  3. Super extremely minor feedback, but during Carnifex's dialog upon returning to Abazigal's lair after fetching that important quest item, I found myself wishing there was a dialogue option to egg him on to stay and fight together with the green dragon, possibly along the lines of ridiculing him for his cowardice. It'd make the full encounter, which I found very satisfying to pull through, an even better double two-dragon affair in ny opinion.

  4. Clerics get an instance of Spell Shield with Impervious Sanctity of Mind which can be brought down with e.g. Spell Thrust or Secret Word cast from memory or scroll. However, the Pierce Magic ability from the Wand of Spell Striking (effectively a Secret Word + weaker Lower Resistance combined) will not bring it down, which in my opinion is an oversight. Note that I'm only addressing the Spell Shield part, not the other benefits that ISoM provides.

Furthermore, the wand description states that its Pierce Magic ability "removes one spell protection" (of any level?), while it behaves like the actual Pierce Magic spell - that is, like a Secret Word, in that it will bring Spell Turning down (lvl 7), but not Spell Trap (lvl 9). So it looks like a description innacuracy.

All I do in the imprisonment phase is force-join them into the party again.

Not sure that's what happened. For an Imprisonment on mainchar the portrait stayed (after a brief flicker) but when cast on Anomen the portrait was gone until I cast Freedom. Then he had his normal "let's form a group again" dialogue upon talking to him.

  6. Anomen had Flail of Ages and a few containers in his inventory when he got imprisoned by Azamantes, and those things got transfered to mainchar. When Anomen was released through Freedom, he still had those items, effectively duplicating them. Mainchar was forced to drop some items on the ground because of lack of inventory space, in case it's relevant.

  7. I wasn't aware those illusions are created by other Rakshasas, since they are already present by the time you approach the group fighting the elves. I assumed they spawned on their own - I think it is Elhan who mentions that there are illusions in the city?

In any case, what I meant is that if illusions act real in all regards, to the point that the wounds they "cause" are real, then maybe it would be fitting that they possess this characteristic of resisting those spell levels as well, as a minor suggestion.

And something else, totally unrelated, but it's around the same area: Irenicus started the battle at the Tree of Life at 50% hp, around 85/170. I cannot recall if that was the case in the unmodded game.
