  2. I always saw Xan as a defeatist with no philosophical bent - he's just used to bad things happening to him and has a woeful outlook as a result. When I'm talking about 'bad things', I mean getting his shoes wet in a puddle or having his porridge (or elven equivalent) go cold on him. In other words, Xan is a big, grown-up baby who looks on the bright side of life, then says it's hurting his eyes.
  3. Would it be possible to list the updates in the IESDP history (a little like WeiDU's list of updates) from now on? I like looking through the additions over time and the history page has stalled at 7th Sept, 2003. It's not a huge priority, but I'd like to know what changes have been made since the last version without looking up the forums.
  4. Happy Brithday... or Birthday, even!
  5. Should I mention that BGII isn't played from the first person's perspective?
  6. I wish my computer had a steering wheel.
  7. Chaotic Good Gnome Ranger Bard Follower Of Baervan Wildwanderer Yay! I'm not an elf! Not sure if a gnome is any better though...
  8. No it's not cool to laugh when children are hurt. I was callous. Thanks to Evaine and Elfheart for reminding everyone that real people were put into pain here - something I didn't really think about.
  9. The police tazed her because she was running into traffic, not because she was drinking and smoking. The point was to stop each child, not to punish them for what they were doing. It's the same idea as reaching out and yanking a child away from an oncoming bus, except this time the child was actually out of reach. And if you've ever tried to stop a child who's panicked and running when you're perceived as a threatening stranger, reasonable talking doesn't actually work.
  10. I'm sorry. It is cruel. (My apology is especially for the genuinely gorgeous kids in my classes, whom I would never taze.)
  11. I mean.. how terrible.

    IT'S A GIRL!

Congratulations! Alyssa's much cuter than baby Quayle.
  13. It's the low cost pub found at the City Gates.
  14. Oops- me too. Happy birthday, Ennigma... may you decloak soon.
  15. Ok. It's all been resolved. Move along, nothing to see here. (It turned out that using the standard WIZARD_POLYMORPH_OTHER was doing funky things to the squirrel. When I used a dummy spell, everything was beautiful.)
  16. Basically, it's triggering, but not actually working. I've polymorphed someone into a squirrel. After some dialogue and some random spells being cast on said squirrel (to which he should have extreme resistance), I force the squirrel to cast a "Change animation" effect on itself using a custom spell (called from the creature's override script). The script block is working as the spell name showed up in the dialogue box.. but my squirrel's not changing. T_T. The weird part is that if I Ctrl-Q Mr Squirrel into my party, and try triggering the script again, he changes immediately. WHAT IS GOING ON?!?!?!?!?!??!?!?!?!?! I've slapped ClearAllActions() all over the place just in case he's busy doing something else, but he will only change if he's a party member. *throws nuts* PS - oh, and I've tried using Polymorph() instead of the spell. Same thing. The block triggers, but the animation stays resolutely squirrelly.
  17. * icelus wonders how many times Cliffette has heard that... JUST KIDDING! If you had a sainthood, Sir Icelus, you would have just lost it then and there.
  18. Ooh, I'll have to explore DLTCEP a little more then. Thanks!
