Customizing quickslots?

Is there a way to customize quickslots at all?

 

so far, I can't even find where quickslots are DESCRIBED. surely there must be some file that at least lists which quickslot arrangment to use for which class?

 

a few months ago, someone posted that they had limited success with this sort of question, but they didn't post enough details for me to understand what they did.

 

I don't know if that's because i'm insufficently familiar with the various BGII file types, or if he just didn't say.

so, does the hardcoding decide which interface to show based on what class is listed in the savegame file then?

 

on the link i posted, can anyone help me understand what he was or was not able to do, and how?

It's hardcoded by which class is listed in the .cre file.

 

What you can't do without executable patching is add a quickslot type not normally present (which included, say a quickslot for weapon slot 3).
