Game crash

Hi,

 

I have a problem with my game crashing. I wasn't sure if this was the best place to ask, but I am using the fixpack (along with a few other mods that should all be compatible) so I suppose it's relevant.

 

Basically, the only thing that's causing a crash is any attempt to edit or add any kind of journal entry. Journal entries that appear automatically are working fine, but if I so much as change a comma and then click 'done', the whole thing goes and I find myself back on the desktop.

 

I know this isn't a big problem in itself (I don't actually need to edit the journal to progress) but, understandably I think, it's worrying... makes the whole thing look a bit unstable.

 

You all understand the inner workings of the game better than I could hope to so even if you can't think of a remedy, I'd be interested in knowing what's probably going wrong and how, if at all, it's likely to affect other areas of the game in future.

 

Also, was there any known bug of this kind that the fixpack is supposed to fix? If not, what kind of other mods could be causing this? Apart from the fixpack I'm only using the tweakpack and a couple of NPC and banter mods, nothing I could imagine having any direct effect on the journal...

Nothing too unusual. Do you have the official Bioware patch installed?

Yeah, I do, I installed that before everything else.

 

So far, everything else has been working pretty much fine (I had one crash on the main character death screen, but it's worked fine since). The only issue continues to be this one with the journal. It's annoying, but at the same time it's not important enough to warrant a reinstall so I can't really test that...
