Jadefang
Was this written from a 3rd edition mindset? He refers to the school of alteration as transmutation throughout, and mentions spells like Cat's Grace and "Endurance" (Bear's?). Link to comment
Kulyok
Possibly. I wasn't thinking of it in terms of 2nd/3rd ed(Baldur's Gate is somewhere in between anyway, with sorcerers, but without other 3rd ed thingies). More like: "transmutation sounds cooler, and "endurance" means you-know-what, so readers with dirty minds will love it more". (nostalgia) Mekrath the Blue Mage, heh. Link to comment
Daulmakan
Cat's Grace is present in AD&D 2E, for what it's worth. Link to comment
RavenBlack
I wonder, could this particular encounter be opened to Bards as well, by virtue of being fellow arcane spellcasters? Link to comment
Kulyok
I'm not sure: I recall there were some quite specific mage-y lines. Then again, a BG2 bard beats a BG1 archmage any day, so I don't see why not. Sure, I'll add it to the list. Link to comment
RavenBlack
Wow, didn't expect a reply so soon, I was editing my post when I saw it. How about Sorcerers too? Being able to spontaneously cast can come in handy Link to comment
Kulyok
Missed. Sorcerers are already included into MAGE_ALL, so you probably just haven't played with a sorcerer. Link to comment
RavenBlack
I really need to stop posting early in the morning, I completely forgot that MAGE_ALL included Sorcs. Link to comment
