Sarevok dead - but fight won't end

Hello, I've been enjoying SCS all the way up until the end of my EasyTutu game. I've 'killed' Sarevok's 4 minions and then him. He collapses, but the game doesn't seem to 'know' that he's dead. Also, when I detect evil, he still glows. Yet, I can't speak to him, click on him or select him in any way. He does drop potions, that I can't seem to reach.

I have tried re-loading the fight and CTL-Y everyone then manually killing him, still the same problem. Is there a global variable I can switch through the console to trigger the end of the game? Its silly, but I just want the satisfaction of actually seeing the end.

I looked through the SHS forum post where a person with BGT had this problem, and it was decided to be a SCS v7 bug, but I'm on SCS v12.

Any suggestions?

Hm...just as I look at the WEIDU.log, it looks like the first few SCS components are from V8. Not sure if that might be the issue?

Link to comment
Wait, those V8 ones are SCS2; sorry, my bad. Still, not sure if that itself might be in some way related?

I suppose it could be. I was trying to get the updated AI from SCSII into my SCS install.. but SCS didn't detect it, so I just overwrote the SCSII components with their corresponding SCS ones. That might be the cause of the problem. But no other suggestions? I can't force the end dialogue through the console, or trigger the script Sarevok should execute at 1hp?

Try the following, in order, at the console:

(i) CLUAConsole:SetGlobal("SPRITE_IS_DEADSAREVOK","GLOBAL",1)

(ii) CLUAConsole:SetGlobal("EndOfBG1","GLOBAL",1)

(iii) CLUAConsole:SetGlobal("DeathOfSarevok","GLOBAL",0)

If none of those work, find the file "_AR0125.bcs" in your override directory, zip it up, and post it here. Or even better (if you can use Near Infinity): post the contents of the file.

Just to be clear, I am playing an Easy TuTu game. The version just before the most recent update (a week ago?).

So I entered all the commands into the console, none of which produced any errors, nor effect. So, here is the content of my _AR0125.bcs file.

I am not. If it could be related to her though, here is how I've interacted with her:

Met Minsc in Nashkel, accepted his offer to join and immediately removed him and told him to wait there. Went to the Knoll stronghold, saved Dyn but didn't accept her into my party.

If you want, I could post my saved game from just prior or after fighting Sarevok.

The "DeathofSarevok" timer isn't being set properly, and you do have a dialog.tlk mismatch from something, judging from the erasure of your journal entries listed in your bcs file:

IF HP("sarevok",1) Dead("galdor") Dead("diarmi") Dead("semaj") Dead("tazok") // TazokTHEN RESPONSE #100 Kill("sarevok") SetGlobalTimer("DeathOfSarevok","GLOBAL",3)ENDIF Global("DeathOfSarevok","GLOBAL",0) OR(4) Global("X#DynaheirRomanceInactive","GLOBAL",1) Global("X#DynaheirRomanceActive","GLOBAL",0) Dead("dynaheir") !InParty("dynaheir")THEN RESPONSE #100 SetGlobal("DeathOfSarevok","GLOBAL",-1) Continue()ENDIF Dead("sarevok") // Sarevok GlobalTimerExpired("DeathOfSarevok","GLOBAL") OR(4) Global("X#DynaheirRomanceInactive","GLOBAL",1) Global("X#DynaheirRomanceActive","GLOBAL",0) Dead("dynaheir") !InParty("dynaheir") Global("EndOfBG1","GLOBAL",0)THEN RESPONSE #100 SetGlobal("EndOfBG1","GLOBAL",1) EraseJournalEntry(84770) // You are no friend <CHARNAME>! You waft of stinking non-hamster-finding evil! Let it be known that once I have found Boo, we shall come and kick your butt liberally, then dose you with the perfume of goodness!! EraseJournalEntry(84748) // But now to think of a name for a second Boo. Boo-two? Booboo? Boo deaux? EraseJournalEntry(82443) // Iridium Sphere EraseJournalEntry(82466) // Tyndal's Temporal Compressor Level: 7 Alteration Duration: 1 Turn Target:Self Casting time: 8 A effective intra-combat spell for the adventuring mage. When cast reality is seen to warp and twist around the caster and he visibly fades out of existence. In actuality the caster is displaced slightly from the normal stream of time. The effect of this temporal displacement is to make the mage harder to affect from normal reality. Weapons seem not to be able to connect with the mage and any none magical weapon is incapable of affecting the mage. Because the mage no longer exists in the normal flow of events while under the effects of this spell no aging can take place, also speed altering spells and spells that imprison or maze are useless against the mage. From the mages view the world appears to be moving exceedingly slowly but to others the mage moves extremely quickly becoming a deadly foe. Effects: Immunity to non-magical weapons. 40% resistance to all forms of physical attack. +2 to all saving throws +2 Armour class Immunity to speed altering, imprisonment and maze spells. AddJournalEntry(88983,QUEST_DONE) AddexperienceParty(15000) StartCutSceneMode() SaveGame(2) SmallWait(2) StartMovie("_NDMOVIE") SmallWait(2) EndCutSceneMode() StartMovie("_NDCRDIT") EndCredits()END

Ok, I see what you're saying erebusant. How would I go about debugging my easy tutu install to see where this happened? Is there something like the weidu change-log switch for individual dialog.tlk lines? This seems like a strange problem, seeing as I followed the easy tutu mod install guide.

That gets really, really dicy. Generally, dialog.tlk mismatches occur from uninstalling mods in your game to update to a newer version of a mod, and then not starting a new game, but continue playing on with a previously saved game. Unfortunately, if the new version of the mod does not have the same number of translation strings, the mismatch occurs. I'm not a WeiDu Ninja by any means so I'm not familiar with how to shift your dialog.tlk strings, and even if there is a way that's assuming you are able to determine how many strings offset you are, and which mod made the shift. Unfortunately, the safest solution is to start a new game.

Thanks, I appreciate your help. I know the cause of it now: I first started my saved game with harder times installed, disliked it a bit in, and reinstalled my mods without it and continued from the same save. I guess I was lucky and got away without noticeable problems until now.
