If you have gdb (sudo apt-get install gdb), you can try to find out where the crash happens. Start gemrb with gdb, type run when you get the gdb prompt. When it crashes, type: where, and post the results. I'm pretty sure we can find out what's wrong, probably a missing file. Btw, once it works, you might want to use the DelayPlugin option to delay the loading of the nullsound plugin. Right now, with that loading order, you wouldn't get any sound. Link to comment

Avenger Posted August 18, 2009 Share Posted August 18, 2009 Strange, do you have write access to the cache? It looks like gemrb cannot uncompress a file, because it cannot open the file to write. So, i would check if the cache is configured properly and give write access to gemrb. Link to comment

Characters continue to animate, and I can move the mouse, but I can't do anything. The current scripts don't have GetToHit, but GetCombatDetails. Also, you can try with the original Cache location, now gemrb will give some warning (could still crash after the warning). But hopefully, it will help other people with the same issue. Link to comment

But I rebuilt from the newest SVN and changed my cache directory back to /var/cache/gemrb and I'm back to exactly the error I was originally having - no warning. Get the newest source from svn.Don't forget to update your scripts in sync with the core. The current scripts don't have GetToHit, but GetCombatDetails.
