Smarter Genies causes efreeti to be immune to wave halberd

I found that my efreeti were immune to the wave halberd, (which was supposed to slay them on hit) and suspected scs 2, so I uninstalled the smarter genies part and it fixed the problem. I don't think it's really needed, but here's my weidu log (after uninstalling smarter genies):

That's because their class is not "Genie_Efreeti" anymore but an actual spellcasting one. Without this change they'd cast spells as a 1st lvl caster though, thus it's a must-have.

 

Unless we add a custom entry for an Efreeti race I cannot think any issue free solution (e.g. setting it to slay genies would make it work on djinni too).

That's not entirely true.

 

You can achieve the same effect by cloning arcane/divine spells into innate abilities which are always cast at the creature's designated level (hit dice count) regardless of its class.

Do you mean the next SCS version will patch the Wave? If so, could you skip this too when IR is detected? I'll handle it within IR as I already tweak the weapon a bit (e.g. I'm making it work vs fire giants too, but all the slay effects now allow a save).

 

P.S I suppose you're using two EFF files, the first triggers vs. genies and casts a second EFF which triggers vs. lawful evil creatures, right?

Yeah, I know, but for some reason I don't like too much a solution which implies the creation of 10-15 new innate abilities. David's solution seems "easier".
