Map and limitation

I've tried to create a night version of an area that I created. But when I convert my new bmp into an area thanks to IE tileset map editor, there are some parts of the picture which is distorted. Are there some limitation about color for are files ?

IETME is a bit ancient - have you tried importing your BMPs to TISs in DLTCEP? There are some good tutorials on how to do that - check Yovaneth's which I think is pinned in the DLTCEP forum. I have done this with smaller tilesets with no noticeable loss.
