Unable to start IWDII on Netbook

I have an Advent 4213 Netbook, 1.6GHz Atom processor, Intel 945 Graphics, running Windows 7. I have (apparently) successfully used the Widescreen mod with GoG versions of Planscape: Torment, Icewind Dale, Icewind Dale II, and Baldurs Gate, but when I attempt to use it with Icewind Dale II, the program crashes on startup. Removal of the mod restores normal function.

 

I am attempting to set 1024 x 600 resolution (native for the LCD screen). I can't see any obvious error messages in the Debug output file.

 

Please advise anything to try.

You might want to open up the setup-widescreen.debug file with Notepad and copy paste the info on it to a message.

 

If the game is installed to the Program Files folder, that's a problem in the new Windows operating systems, that can cause it to fail ... etc.

The game is installed into E:\Games\Baldurs gate II - I've had problems with UAC in the past so I know that dodge.

:blush: Seems I'm more of a moron than I thought...

 

... This thread is titled wrong, as upon checking with more coffee inside me, I found that it was, in fact, Icewind Dale II and not Baldurs Gate II that was the problematic game.

 

All other information stands, though.

 

As it seems I cannit either delete the thread myself, or even edit the title or remove a post, the debug file above is, of course, for the Icewind Dale II installation that isn't playing ball in Widescreen.

 

Apologies for the confusion caused - I obviously shouldn't be trusted with a keyboard.
