testlum
Appreciate if anyone could shed some light on this 2da file. LINK Straightforward enough for single classes, and I think I figured out multi-classes too - MULTI_X basically means the level you'd need to hit in X class of whatever multi before getting your first HLA. What I do not understand is the dual-classes. Why do all of them - except Fighter > Mage - have 41 in the column? If F > M was also 41, I could guess that 41 was a random placeholder since the base game only goes to level 40. Surely it's not just a typo? Quote Link to comment
Allbrother
Dual classes only get hlas for their active class, that's a typo and don't call me shirley Edited August 2, 2023 by Allbrother Quote Link to comment
testlum
That's how it works in game, yeah. Do you mean that any number in the field replacing 41 wouldn't make a difference? Quote Link to comment
jmerry
Probably. I'm pretty sure those rows are unused, and the 14 in the "FIGHTER_MAGE" row definitely looks like a transposition typo for 41. Quote Link to comment
testlum
Hmm, didn't expect that. Thanks both! Quote Link to comment
lynx
The x in MULTI rows is clearly for how many classes constitute the multiclass — either 2 or 3. When a multiclass levels up, each relevant family is checked for a match, eg. a FIGHTER_MAGE would match MULTI2FIGHTER, MULTI2MAGE or both (if both ever level up at the same xp).
