[Beta 7][IWD:EE] "Allow Multi-Classed and Dual-Classed Mages to Become Specialists and Wild Mages" not working

Recommended Posts

Dual-classing into a Wild Mage does not allow me to pick Nahal's Reckless Dweomer spell or grant me the extra spell slot. Tested dual'ing into Invoker too with similar results.

Interestingly, if you reload the save, Nahal's Reckless Dweomer, Chaos Shield and Improved Chaos Shield are then added to the character's spellbook.

Attaching a save where you should be able to just level up, dual-class and reproduce (for this WeiDU log).

Pretty sure that in some part of it, the readme mentions that you need to save and reload to get the Wild Mage spells. The issue with the Invoker does sound like a bug, as for the Wild Mage's spells, that's intended (well, the best that can be done due to engine limitations).

Okay, as a hotfix, you can download and the attached spell and place it on your override folder, it will permanently give you one extra spellslot for levels 1-9, and can be applied to any character (just once🙂) with the following console command:

C:Eval("ApplySpellRES(\"c7exspl\",Myself)")

Will work as long as you have the character selected and the cursor over them (maybe both aren't necessary, I don't know what seals the deal). Don't use on single-Class specialists, those are already getting their appropiate bonus to spells.

Hm, it seems in Beta 8 with the latest hotfix applied I get an empty list of specialties after choosing to dual into mage.

Suspecting some EEex interaction in this as well. With the above weidu.log installation, I am softlocked at the pick mage subclass dialog - there's nothing to click and "Done" button is greyed out.

BUT, in a fresh install with nothing but the above ToF Beta 8 components installed (and the hotfixes provided today) I can click the upper regions of the empty list, hear the sound of (invisible) buttons being pressed and see the "Done" button ungrey. That allows me to proceed with a dual-class into normal mage.

I think I ran into this same problem with few differences. I'm playing BG:EE, Imoen already had Adventurer kit from Song and Silence, and I couldn't click the upper regions of the emply list to dual-class into a normal mage. Which is a bummer since Adventurer/Mage is what I had planned for Imoen.

I'm assuming "Characters who dual-class into speciality mage kits now get their one bonus spell per level." includes Wild Mages - if I'm wrong and that's to be taken literally, then please forgive me. That said:

In IWD:EE, Thief2/Wild Mage1 still just has one spell slot. Dualing into Necromancer though, worked fine, plus the component to require memorizing at least one specialty class spell, which is great.

In BG:EE the above is still happening ( IWD:EE is fixed ).

Also with the above weidu.log, the main menu for Baldur's Gate and Black Pits is somewhat mangled:image.thumb.jpeg.45b7c9dd266172cc247b644ee77f1946.jpeg
