mageofthesands
Hi. Long time user of eSeries, first time poster. Long time, as in I believe I used them back in '02 and '03. Whenever Version 1.2 was, when Minsc tried to Charm a black dragon. (Funniest thing I've seen - Big burly man running up to bigger, burlier dragon and whistling to it) Trying to play BGII again, something of a yearly thing. Tried using eSeries (1.8) again, but am plagued with problems. I switch to eSeries in Chateau Irenicus, and the game starts to slow to a crawl. Not fun. I find this forum, and start reading. I try to trim my override folder to just BG Fix, Flirtpacks, and BG Tweaks, but it still slows down. More reading shows that I need detectable spells, and/or detectable stats, and that they may or may not be part of BG Fix (is that in Super Happy Mod pack? How vague is that name?), and something called PnP Celestrials. I uninstall 1.8, try to install Scriptable Spells 1.4, but I don't see the typical install WeiDu thing that most mods come with. Instead I use 1.3 that I have lying around. I can't seem to be able to find Detectable Spells, and I have to dig for Detectable Stats. That's after I figure out that there's a difference from BPStats. I try to install BPStats 3, but it doesn't work. I find a leak to a workaround, but all I find is a bunch of stuff I don't understand. Is there an easy to use workaround, or a way to just explain to me what I have to do? I install eSeries 1.8 with Celestials in, detectable stuff, and massively reduced override. Still I get little hangs. So I uninstall, I install eSeries 1.2.09 (I don't know why I have it on my computer). Still hangs. I've tried to get this working for about 5 hours now. I've reached "grumpy" stage. What do I have to do to get this to work? And if it won't work until a new version of BPStats comes out, is there a rollback version out there that will work? I'd take Minsc the Whistling Wonder at this point. Link to comment
ronin69hof
In order for eSeries to work you need to install the following: gminion located here: http://america.iegmc.net/g3/gMinion-v1.8.exe PnPCelestials located here: http://america.iegmc.net/g3/PnPCelestials-v4.exe BPDetectStats located here: http://america.iegmc.net/bpdetectstat/BP_DS_1.2.rar and then eseries located here: http://www.camagna.net/g3mirror/eSeries-v1.8.exe then it should work fine with no slowdowns ronin Link to comment
mageofthesands
I'm sorry, but trying to install that detectable stats ends in error. "ERROR: Invalid_argument("String.sub")" Link to comment
Midnight Voyager
Mine, too, Mage. EDIT: I found another topic on the subject and... er... I can't quite decipher what is supposed to be the fix for what in the link it referred me to. It doesn't APPEAR to have anything to do with this particular problem... The topic I found: http://forums.gibberlings3.net/index.php?showtopic=8600 Link to comment
zookeeper
I'd like to use eSeries, but am having problems with getting Detectable Stats 1.2 to install properly, consistently receiving the following error: ERROR: [sTAF15.ITM] -> [override] Patching Failed (COPY) (Invalid_argument("String.sub")) Stopping installation because of error. I know this was addressed by KD, and I added the "SET extra_effects = 0" code at the appropriate place in the .tp2 (for both staf15.itm and wand14.itm). I also see that a lot of work is being done on getting a new version of BP-DS out, but in the meantime ... any solutions? Thanks! Link to comment
Nythrun
If you're still getting string_sub there's some other undeclared variable; you can just wrap both patches in /* comments */ and skip them. Link to comment
zookeeper
I had decided that's what I'd do ... thanks for confirming, Nythrun! Link to comment
