  1. No, please dont take my horrible english personally! 😜

Well, there are specific mods, very good mods, that are only really enjoyable (at least for me) when played for the first time. I mean Assasinations and G3 anniversary mod are the most accurate examples but there are more, much more like Jan extended quest, not to mention actually classic bludner Improved Iilych (I played it only two times and then never installed it again). Ofcourse all these mods are AMAZING and if you can play them zillion times enjoying them every time - more powah to ya. I prefer to walking walking walking in BG1 instead, which is not even that boring anymore thanks to some great modder who speds a lot of time making mods for a "boring" game. ;pppppp

There are many reasons why some (including myself) may prefer to keep BG games separate:

    1. There are fewer mods that work on EET, because a grand majority of mods are developed as expansions for a specific game (BGEE, BG2EE, SoD, ToB...)
    2. It's easier for me to maintain a properly working installation of BG(2)EE (rather than EET), because there are still new mods developed, and it's normal for bugs to happen. When you play EET and there is a really serious bug, it kinda dooms not just your BG1EE or BG2EE run. It dooms the trilogy run what may be discouraging at best.
    3. Some people simply prefer one game to another: I prefer BG2 to BG1. I always did. There is a huge portion of BG1EE I simply dislike. But I wrote SotSC, right? Because I find it hard to like the BG1 portion the way it is and I wanted it to be at least... acceptable, I guess? I know there are people who love how BG1EE gives freedom etc, but... to me, it means I am free to roam a boring world with wilderness areas that have no real quests, no interesting encounters, or places to loot, no characters to talk to. Important parts like Ulcaster Ruins do not offer much to me. So, as I play 1 BG1EE run per 4 BG2EE runs (more or less), then who should I install EET? To skip BG1EE portion most of the time? And yes, I know there are people who love BG1EE more than they do BG2EE. But there is also no reason why they should play EET. But that doesn't mean I dislike characters the first part of the game or Siege introduce: like Skie. Or Glint. Or many others. It's just... I would rather see new content for them in BG2 rather than see the same talks in BG1EE / SoD.
    4. And finally, there are just some who don't want to spend more time on installing EET, because they never needed "continuous NPCs" or stuff like that.

I think it's quite obvious that to me point 3 is most important. So yeah, once I see a mod is EET-only, that means I simply won't play it. And I am not saying I "EET is bad". It's just not the way some players (me included, as I am not only a modder, but I do play the game, too) want to experience the trilogy. I am sure there are also other reasons, not just those I mentioned.

That's because you asked. Cool to see new mods that introduce SoD characters into SoD, but due to requirements, I suppose this one will be mostly enjoyed by EET fans rahter than those like me.

Applies only for a new player. My opinion was exactly the same at first but after I did all quests and dialogs in BG2 for a zillion times I started to see that BG1 actually has maybe less epic but more sensible and simply better main story, main villain and better writing, BG2 has better meaningfull personal quests like Anomen, Jan, Keldorn and fun cheesy HLA and thats it. Classic blunder: BG2 is better than BG1 but not really.

BG1 with its "empty" stuff and walking walking walking walking............ actually has devilishly clever, ingenious main story and a perfect villain (your own alter ego!) with his party being somewhat like a mirror image (oh, the puns) of your own party.

Oh, yeah Corwin for the win!!

After a long hiatus, I am planning to come back and do some more work on this mod.  I don't necessarily plan to add or change a lot about it, but my fellow modders know that once you get elbows-deep into a mod and the creative juices get flowing..... things happen :)

From the *many* comments I have gotten regarding this mod, one item I plan to address is making the new spells component optional.  Personally, I still think it's kinda silly,  but different strokes for different folks and all that.

I may or may not look into making use of Olvyn's spell tool for the spells component.  Haven't tried using it at all, so going in blind.  Will see how it goes, may try it on one of my kit mods first.

I have some ideas for a couple of new kits I plan to work on separately from this, but may offer them as optional components of this mod.  I'd kinda like to roll my mods up into one, allowing the player to select what they do and don't want to install, just to keep everything under one roof, so to speak.  I will probably get more flak about that, but seriously, the category this mod is under is "Items/Kits/Spells".  So... even if it contains all three, it still fits the category, imho.

Consider this thread a "Wish List" of sorts that you all would like to see in an update to this mod.  I already know one thing @Endarire will probably ask for, and am already considering how I can work it in, as my way of saying thanks for keeping up with me on this mod over the last couple of years. *cough* elven plate *cough*.

So, please post your thoughts on what you'd like to see in an update here and let's discuss.  Anything goes, and by that I mean the following:

    1. Items and/or spells you'd like to see added
    2. Items and/or spells you'd like to see removed.
    3. Items and/or spells you would like to see buffed or nerfed.
    4. Descriptions and/or lore you would like to see changed or added.
    5. Artwork/Audiovisual effects you would like to see changed or added.

The only "hard rules" I have are that the mod must remain in a fashion that forces the player to make choices about using upgrade components, and item/spell balance kept in-line.  No adding extra components to allow a player to get everything in a single playthrough, and no "I win" buttons.  So.... if you find yourself thinking: "I really want item A and B, but can only get one of them." That's working as intended and not likely to change.  Conversely, if you are thinking: "I really shouldn't be able to get both item X and Y, both of them together are just too powerful"  That would be very helpful.

IMHO, just concentrate on upgrading items. don't make spells optional, simply remove it.

In BG2, +2 weapons become useless rather quickly because many monsters require at least +3 weapons to hit, so my general request is make more +3 weapons/upgrades.

and don't get me wrong but imo you just should make a mod you yourself would like to install and play and don't ask what peeps want unless it is about very specific item,

  4. omg, calm down LOL

My favorite mod is Keto and it has that beautiful girl who created this masterpiece voice, pretty sure she is voicing Keto (her alter ego pretty much) herself and she has really good voice and thats that. There is also anorther classic Kelsey, well, generally I like it, it's awesome but Kelsey is also voiced by his creator and ekhem... imo he should have really just steal Jan Jansen voice for his voicelines. ehehehhehe heheheheh hehehehehehebnehbehe

  5. did they rejoin for good after you actually increase/decrease your rep? if they do - not a bug.

imo the devs are just being generous sending npc to the camp (just eekeeper your rep, we don't mind) instead of make them just leave forever.

heh, I reloaded and slayer change so many times preventing Viccy from leaving. good times.

  6. HAHAH, whats going on? BG3 wiki is about Morpheus562 mods? When you started modding BG3, Morpheus?

BG3 is a gargantuan game about HOW YOUR CHARACTERS LOOKS and who/what is she/he/it actually banging, not about game mechanics or even story which is really kinda meh. SO, if you want to make a proper BG3 wiki use proper sources mainly skyrim and dragon age inqusition mods.

and don't forgot about famous new standards:

Fighter/thief multi is still six HLAs ahead of a plain thief though with a potential total of 23 instead of 17... but I think InKal was referring to Improved Anvil, which has an xp cap of 12.2 million, multis would draw noticeably ahead if IA didn't also delay HLAs for them, especially for the triple classes which I think nobody takes when playing an Anvil campaign.

yeah. and actually nobody actually takes multiclasses characters, only cheaters and thers is quite a lot of them belive it or not.

  8. what? I am not angry at all, I just post my shit guys, it is tottaly not personal. jesus how I can be angry with somebody I don't know, who lives like 20 000 km away from me - that just ridicoulus! when I say that removing hlas, actually the best imo what that completely butchered version of BG3 released as ToB dlc, has to offer is just stupi in my opinion and thats all, NOTHIG PERSONAL! Personally I can say that I like what you are doing (well. 70-80% generally) and respect your work. bu for fuvk sake I am literally nobody. I am no one, hhaha

  9. no, sadly my criticisim is completely valid. I played this and uninstalled after an hour or two with disgust. bland, boring, uninspirig game, worse, MUCH worse than D:OS 2 in every aspect. basically a gigantic bloated baloon of mediiocrity.

  10. HLAs is not to make game more cheesy or something but rather for making leveling fun again. Highest effective level is lvl 20 (fighter stops gaining THACO after level 20, etc.). If you first installing something like remove level cap and then you want to remove HLAs then I am not sure that you actually know what you are doing. HLA is actually pretty good concept but I understand when someone wnats to change something, improve or replace some HLA like giving actually good HLAs to bards is amazing Avenger's idea and execution and if you want to just remove them just like that because you are somewhat angry about HLAs fuck knows why? sry champ you are kinda stupid imo.

What is actually cheesy is multi class hlas, double or even triple HLAs which means HLA every level for every class. Ideally multi class should gain HLA every two levels and triple class every three levels to make their HLAs number the same as single class. but that is pretty sure impossible to do because engine limitation or something and for example Improved Anvil circumvent this (tahts the word? circuumvent?) by removing the strongest HLAs from multi classes, which is really NOT FUN at all. Do not remove HLAs but rather make them great again like Avenger.

In modern games (one game actually) HLA equvivalent is mythic system in Pathfinder:WOTR. Mythic system is imo pretty much HLAs for new era RPGs.

The way SR invisibility and detection works ...

    - Nothing removes invisibility entirely, like old DI/IP/Oracle/TS. That capability simply isn't available anymore.

    - Spells that formerly had this invisibility removal instead grant the caster the ability to see through invisibility. That caster can see the enemy, attack them, and target them with anything, but this is not shared with their allies. Nothing protects against the ability to see through invisibility.

    - Spells that grant the ability to see through invisibility also emit pulses that reveal enemies, eliminating basic invisibility and turning improved invisibility into weak invisibility. This makes no difference for an AI-controlled caster, but their allies can now see the enemy to attack them, and that enemy is now visible so you can click on them if the caster is on your side. Non-detection blocks these pulses.

So ... yeah, if Edwin's your only mage, you can't spell-break an enemy with improved invisibility. A priest such as Viconia can use True Seeing and target them with spells, but they don't have stuff like Breach and Secret Word in their spell list.

    ohh, a little confused.

So, SR allows to target improved invisible characters but you must first cast true sight, right? After casting true sight, enemy mage is visible only by a dude/dudess who casted true sight and the problem with Edwin is that him beaing a conjurer and not being able to cast true sight he can do shit, oh LOOOOOL fecking useless red monkey of Nay give him a banana kick him out and take Nalia or Neera uffffff much MUCH better.

OMG, what a mixture of actually good mods with utter crap. just my opinion pffffffff.......

Installing mods after SCS (especially quest and npc mods) is baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaad.

You can actually edit areas in your save file using Near Infinity and remove duplicated actors but it is a loooong and tedious process, not worth it really.

  13. If a high level mage casts Immunity Divination, you can do literally nothig to dispel him (exepet probably old as carbon 3xRubyRayofReversal form Chain Contingency cheat) which makes the game to return to its vanilla state so we are modding the game like crazy for it to become a vanilla game again LOL. That is why I dont't use spell revisions for years now, if you have only SCS installed you can somewhat bypass his imminity. I would never use SCS and SR togheter because in my opinion they are incompatible mods and istalling them both is at least counterproductive.

lets go at it again in simple soldier words: first you install SCS which allows you to target invisible cheese

then you install SR which doesn't allow you to target invisible cheese.

    BONKERS!

Not at all the same thing. This is about the broader fantasy trope of magic that literally uses blood, not inherited powers. Contracts signed in blood, sacrifices (willing or otherwise), that sort of thing.

Which ... actually, there's something already in the games. Remember those pools of blood in BG2's vampire lair, and the chapter 6 plot point of putting in holy water to weaken the vampires? That's blood magic - or rather, the vampires are empowering themselves with blood magic and you're disrupting that.

I don't think it would make good material for a player-usable class. Maybe you could do something with losing hit points (bleeding oneself) to gain spell power, but that feels like a nightmare to balance. Leave the blood magic rituals to the villains, where you can tailor the effects without worrying about players gaming the mechanics.

no, no blood magic. there is no magic there at all, blood is just food for vampires and these pools are some kind like foodstores for them. and when you destroy them you weaken vampires actually more symbolically than for real, in terms of game mechnanic they are not weaken at all.

Imo "blood magic" is, very clever by the way, David Gaider creation (inspired probably by Game of Thrones) of very interesting mage archetype and also to put more emphasis on "abominations" and show how dangerous magic can be. it is exclusive DA thing imo.

there is also interesting (modded) cleric class called Blood Minister using Bloodborne actually inspired "blood magic". Mod by DanP  https://github.com/D2-mods/The-Workshop-Kitpack

  15. They are busy making their own game. Ambitious project like some kind of visual novel but also a musical. It looks like to put it bluntly they bite off a little more than can chew with that "musical" part. But the game is really interesting (for me it looks like a mix of classic Hair with American Gods) and I wish them all the best, I hope they will finally manage to realese the game.
