Problem with gem bag.

Not sure where to post this but I keep having this bug where stuff in my gem bag disappears I keep having to cheat to bring back stuff. Gem bag destroying items have caused some quests to break if I put quest specific items in there. I also lost a lot of important rings and all the rogue stones I had. I have 2 gem bags but I think only 1 of them is buggy. I have started having this bug after completing the missing Boo quest I think where I received a third gem bag that did nothing. It was just a duplicate of the one I already had. I also can't sell this extra bag. I can leave it on the ground though. To get all this stuff back is going to be a huge pain with the console yet I really need the bag to save inventory space as I can't stand just leaving gems lying around. Also a good place for rings and amulets.

 

Oh yes one odd thing I noticed is that when I lost another quest item from the gem bag I happened to come across the gem bag I threw on the ground and lying next to it was the lathander ring. None of my other items where there though. Just that thing.

It did not work the velvet gem back still has a duplicate. Would I need to start a new game? Anyway I figured out a work around. I found out that the bag I dropped in the copper coronet was causing the problem. I picked up the duplicate bag and put it in the sewers inside a container. Since I do not need to go there anymore it should no longer affect me. Basically the existence of 2 duplicate gem bags in the same area will destroy all or most of the items inside it.

If someone can narrow down which gem bag was causing the issue (preferably its item name or at least which area it came from) I can take a look at it. I quashed all the container bugs I could find in Unique Containers, but I may have missed one or two. It sounds like a mod issue, possibly UB-related due to the Boo quest reference. I'm not pointing the finger definitively, but that's the only concrete reference I gleaned from the posts above.

It's the one Unfinished Business uses for the Boo Quest. It duplicates "bag02".

Ugh. I hate bugs like that. They ought to've copied the .sto over too but still ridiculously easy to do. And easy enough to fix also with code as well, but of course I had to create new BAMs of all things. Have I mentioned I hate BAMs?

Good catch too (grumble). I only scanned .tp2 and .itm files - I didn't think folks would be resorting to dupe-baggery in dialogue but of course they would. 'Cause I scanned my old BWP install .d files 'for kicks' and found another offender - Zyraen's Spellhold Gauntlet which dupes a generic bag of holding (bag04).
