Domi Posted August 5, 2009 Posted August 5, 2009 I picked it in the library on random, since I have a weakness for mystery and archaeology thrown in together since Jonathan Gash's Lovejoy series, Lindsey Davis Falco and Relic Hunter TV series (I know, cheesy, but fun ) and it actually wasn't bad at all. I read the fourth book, called Africain Quest, set in Tunisia, and just put a hold on the first one, connected to Maya. It has an antique dealer from Toronto as the protagonist and a built-in short mystery story from the 'period' paralleling the current events. If you think it's your kind of stuff, you might like it
cmorgan Posted August 6, 2009 Posted August 6, 2009 Many of my wife's archaeology friends (including her) are into the Tony Hillermans - though that is more anthropology/mystery than ancient mystical mummies (which seems to bug them no end).
