So I got to cloakwood, saved baedor (or whatever) he told me to go back to the tree house. I did and the two guys outside yelled at me and attacked. I made them go splat. Then I talk to Maretha and it tells me she has nothing to say to me.

There should be one archdruid inside (Amarande) and one outside (Andarthe). Did you defeat both of them? Also, is Beador still alive? Maretha should have something to say regardless, sounds like something may have gone wrong (maybe she got caught in a hostile spell or something?).

Yeah, if I go back to him he just tells me to hurry and rescue Maretha. And yeah I did go upstairs and defeated Amarande as well.

Hmm, thought someone responded to this, but you could try messing with some of the variables mentioned here.
