StrongArmand
I would like to add a new icon for effect 142. I can replace the originally states.bam by another but it isn't very friendly for other modder... I've a small idea of how patch an ids or other files but bam are graphic files. So a patch is it possible ? Link to comment
Miloch
Yes, it's possible to patch a BAM but not exactly easy. There is a function out there (by Mike1072 I think) that patches mapicons.bam along the same lines; maybe you could borrow code from that. Offhand, I don't know of other mods that update states.bam so you could overwrite it until you figure it out, but it is always still a good idea to patch in case someone else wants to add more states. Mike1072
The structure is defined on IESDP, but there's a limit on the number of cycles a BAM can contain, which affects how many icons states.bam can contain (255), so most modders avoid adding to it (I think some existing mods already fill it up). I don't know if ToBEx or BG:EE deal with this, but they should. I assume GemRB does. Link to comment
