[BG1 and BG2] Restrictions and magical protections

Hello!

 

Can anyone tell me whether or no NPCs in the BG1 and BG2 games wear magical protections with the same limitations that are imposed on the player?

The overall number of characters who use items of protection is very small. There are a couple of cheaters, but they seem to be important characters like Aran, Illasera, Renal Bloodscalp, and Gaelan Bayle.

 

For the most part, non-joinable NPCs appear quite unlike PCs. They rarely have kits or exotic classes and usually have minimal spells and equipment. It's hard to draw many conclusions about designer intent from what they did with non-joinables.

Well placing the items in to the wrong slot is not very much of a difference either... the .cre database is quite a mess, that's all it tells us really.
