Aquadrizzt
(Sorry I'm posting so many questions. I'm just discovering a lot of the nuances of NPC coding and have a bunch of questions.) Is it possible for an EE creature to have different "on party member death" phrases for more than one party member? Ajantis does but he uses the same line for all of them. The documentation on DEATH.2da isn't clear on this. Ex: Minsc, Edwin, Dynaheir, Shar-Teel in a party If Minsc dies, Edwin says X If Dynaheir dies, Edwin says Y If anyone else (e.g. Shar-teel) dies, Edwin says Z. If this isn't possible to do through DEATH.2da, can it be done through creature scripting? Link to comment
CrevsDaak
You can use VerbalConstant() to play the sound and SetPlayerSound() to change it accordingly (this is the approach I'm using in a NPC mod I'm helping to implement). Link to comment
Fiann of the Silver Hand
Might as well just add to the npc's script to play a wav, or add to the npc's dlg if you want the text to show up; the same way they comment on things like entering the tanner's. It not needing a reply makes it much simpler than most dlg tasks. Link to comment
Avenger
Only PST (and GemRB) can define more than one different specific death response. They do so by adding the specific response to death.2da itself. This feature doesn't exist in any other game. Link to comment
