Caillean Posted March 23, 2017 Share Posted March 23, 2017 At the risk of getting tedious here - I noticed that the wyvern animation can cause GemRB to crash with the following error: [CharAnimation/FATAL]: Four frames Animation: unhandled stance: mwyv 15 Concerns vanilla and mod-added creatures. The above happened in Durlag's Tower (playing BGT on GemRB as of March, 21st) Link to comment

Caillean Posted March 23, 2017 Author Share Posted March 23, 2017 On sight. In the first case it was mod-added critters using the wyvern animation, and here it crashed every time I entered the area. Had to remove them from the area. The second case was one Greater Wyvern in the Durlag's Tower. But here, it didn't crash every time. I tried around a bit with reloading, but couldn't figure out why it crashes some times, and other times not. Link to comment

I had the same case with a vanilla ToB install with IA and I had to redo the big white wyvern bam files cause they lacked the eastern directions (xxxxE.bam files). Link to comment

The "small" wyverns use the MWYV1, MWYV2, MWYV3, and MWYV1E, MWYV2E, MWYV3E files. But great ones use a 4 parts split animation slot (files MWYV11 to 14, MWYV21 to MWYV24 and MWYV31 to 34 without E counterparts). Those last ones may be the root if the problem: The engine is supposed to automatically mirror them but I noticed that sometimes, for an unknown reason, when you meet a great wyvern facing to east, the game crashes. All I did was to create the eastern bam files and copy them into the override folder : no more crashes. Link to comment

(Just by renaming?!) Reloaded a couple of times, and I couldn't make it crash anymore. But the small wyvern still causes a crash. EDIT: Nope, just crashed again, I had the thing chasing me around, and this time it looked to the west... Link to comment

Oi, 2:30 now for all three of us! Nothing. No crashes, wyverns look fine, the mod added ones, the Cloakwood wyverns plus the big ones in Durlag's Tower. Or you should try this fix : http://www.shsforums.net/files/file/1052-ia-content-fixed-tanarri-and-wyvern/ Tried this too on the previous version without lynx' latest fix, but it doesn't do the trick, it still crashed, so it's not an option for GemRB players with wyvern crash trouble.
