FATAL ERROR: Sys_error("..\\lang\\en_us\\dialog.tlk: Permission denied")

Hi All,

 

I've installed the Tweak Anthology v4 on my BG2EE (SoA, ToB) obtained through GOG. I'm running Win10 64bit.

 

At the end of installation I get the message:

 

FATAL ERROR: Sys_error("..\\lang\\en_us\\dialog.tlk: Permission denied")

 

I thought maybe it was privilege thing so I ran the installer as an administrator without change. The file itself is not marked as Read Only.

 

From the SETUP-CDTWEAKS.DEBUG file, the line right before the error message is:

 

106459 characters, 210 entries added to DIALOG.TLK

 

After the installation, there were a number of items and abilities that had no text associated with them resulting in errors.

 

Any ideas?

Could be a couple of things--if the game or an editor is open, sometimes they can lock the tlk file. Alternatively, Windows gets pretty protective of files in the Program Files path.
