No voice or banter with the mods installed

Recommended Posts

I've been playing BG for years and just recently found these expansions and am looking forward to the new characters.  I have the beamdog client install of BGEE v2.3.67.3.  I am running windows 7.

I have installed the following expansions..

cdtweaks-v9

aurenaseph-v10

GlamNPCPack-v2

coranbgfriend

TheBeaurinLegacy-v3.5

tyrisflare-v8

bg1NPC

and crossmodbg2-v19.

I have no voices for the new characters I have installed and added to the party.  I try to initiate dialogue with a character individually and nothing happens.  I hope someone on here knows how to help me out to get the voice and banter dialogues.

If I did not provide enough info, please let me know what information would be needed to get help.

Thank you in advance for your time.

First off: BG:EE and BGII:EE are at 2.5 now, I recommend you update your games (although do not do this while playing a modded game, it'll destroy your installation).

Second, we'd need to see your weidu.log, just copy the contents here into a spoiler.

Then, which game are you playing? I'm a bit confused because you list BG1 and BGII mods. Also, did you use an automated installed for your install?

M last question is what you expected to see. You say voice and banter, but you also talk about missing PID ("klicktalks"), which are different things. Which NPC do you refer to? Where are you in the game and what exactly did you do and what exactly are you missing?

Since I am in the middle of the game, I will wait to update until it is completed unless that is required to resolve the issue.  I know that I installed BG1 and some BG2 installs, figured I would install all them at once, especially since one installer said to install it after al other installs were done, the crossmod installer.  Each install was done one at a time, I hope that answers your question.

I am currently using Moidre and Flara in the game.  Currently in the game, Bandit camp has been cleared, running around the map exploring and gaining experience prior to heading into the Cloakwood mines.

I do apologize about the confusion about the missing PID, I was just detailing the lack of audio from the characters.  As to what I expected to see, visually it looks great, the characters look great, the animation looks great.  I was expecting them to have dialogue, but they are dead silent.

Here is log you requested, thanks for helping....

I still am not sure whether you refer to a lack of dialogues (popup windows with text to click through) or the actual voicing, i.e. sound output.

As a rule of thumb, tweak packs go after NPC mods. The recommended install order would be BG1NPC - CoranFriendship - Glam's NPC Pack - Tweaks. Reason is that otherwise, the tweak pack cannot alter the mod aded files.

If you have explicit questions to Glam's NPC Pack, the forum is here.

The weidu.log lists the install order.

The thing here is that it SHOULD. There are situations where it doesn't... but most of those are easiest to solve with a complete clean reinstall. Aka you uninstall the game, remove the game folder, reinstall the game* and then install the mods, and then they are in the weidu.log .

*And you do this in a folder you own, aka if you use the C drive, use this folder for example:

C:\Users\<windows username>\Games\BG2 - SoA\

..as you don't "own" any of the other folders in Windows 10.

The Crossmod Banter Pack is a BGII mod only. It's irrelevant for BG1. In BG1, NPC mods have their crossmod content inside the actual mods and install order is important to get it, but for your list of mods above, it's also irrelevant as you have only one mod NPC mod (Glam's Pack).

It should be noted that the list jastey refers to is the weidu.log files content you note above... but like I said, also above, it's not the list you made in the first post of this thread. What might have happened is, that the mod you tried to install to your BG(1)EE game, are only BG2EE mods and as such won't get installed as they are not compatible with BG(1)EE alone.

And no, not all the in game lines are voice-acted. Cause that takes a lot of game space and .... the game was large enough to not fit into the CDs it was originally ¨printed¨ on, without storage spacing technics. Yes, the BG1(+TotSC) took 6 CDs to play, but it fits into 3.
