Just tried the new version (2.1) and it installed without errors, thanks again

I am glad to hear that! The error only occurred with BGT. I hope you can enjoy the mod now.

The mod updates to V 2.1

    Changelog:

Due to a missing file, the worldmap of the version 2.0 of the mod could not be installed for the Baldur's Gate Trilogy (BGT). This bug has been fixed.

    @Acifer hello, just got the following error when trying to install on oBGT;

    I've attached the debug.

Any ideas or is it me doing something daft (happening more than usual at the moment it seems)?

Version 1.4 installed ok on a previous install but I didnt get to play this mod because of other errors. Looking forward to trying it.

    Thanks

That was completely my fault. I switched back and forth between oBG2 and BG2EE until I messed up a file.

I uploaded a new version. It should work now. Sorry!

I'm currently playing this mod (beta 0.7, I couldn't update it in my current run) and I'm having a blast.

Thank you very much! I'm very glad that you like the mod!

    Regarding the power keys:

    Spoiler

I wasn't sure about druids being subject to the same restrictions as clerics. The source material is not clear on this. I need to take a closer look at this again. Is Anomen in your game of good alignment and no longer neutral?

I have started translating Chinese and have completed the translation of about 20 tra files.

    Thank you for your contribution!

    Regarding EET:

Unfortunately the new area is misaligned on some worldmaps in EET installations. Goldspires is located in the north in Icewind Dale. 😟

I will fix this in the next update.

  4. The mod updates to V 1.1

I have switched from ISO-8859-15 to UTF-8 to facilitate the translation process. I have also replaced some remaining purely male pronouns with <PRO_HIMHER>.

    Changelog version 1.1:

    Spoiler
    • changed all tra-files to UTF-8
    • removed autotra folder and iconv
    • changed 6 "him" to <PRO_HIMHER>
    • succubus and infant in area AC#W4S now disappear if Gildaar is already dead
    • the vrock in ac#w60 now teleports away when no enemies are nearby

Congratulations on the release. Finally, we saw what a combination of art, programming and writing a story for a mod is. I wish you further continuation of BG modding.

    Thank you very much!

  5. The mod updates to version 2.0

    Changelog version 2.0

    • added French translation by JohnBob and @deratiseur
    • added Chinese translation by @lzw104522773
    • added German version conform to Shai Hulud's textpatch by Shai Hulud
    • added graphical worldmap feature - worldmap icon by @Lava, thank you! *

    • added FARAWAY areatype to prevent NPCs showing up on all areas of the remote island
    • corrected item descriptions for BG2EE
    • better description formatting of books and scrolls
    • slightly better lighting in the shadow area for better orientation
    • better searchmap in the shadow area
    • AC#DTSW2.itm now works properly
    • summoned water elementals are now controlled
    • Protection from poison scroll (AC#SCRL2): correct icon for quick item slot
    • Protection from poison scroll (AC#SCRL2): correct bam for oBG2
    • removed critical item flag for most books and scrolls
    • Thalass now takes the items presented to him
    • removed invalid string in ACDT41.are
    • revamped rest-encounters in ACDT30
    • changed AC#DTKY1 and AC#DTKY2 from misc to keys
    • AC#DT30N, AC#DT12N, AC#DT10N, AC#DT11N, AC#DTBK3 now are scrolls so they can be put into scroll cases and PCs can copy the text into their journal
    • splitted ACDT22.baf to oBG2 and BG2EE

    * You need to start a new game to display the area on the worldmap - this is a purely aesthetic feature, the mod can also be played as usual without starting a new game.

Many thanks to all the dedicated translators and to everyone who contributed to this version of the mod!

  6. Thank you very much for your feedback! I'm glad you enjoyed the mod.

I did notice that during a number of dialogues through the mod, the pronouns or male/female being used for the PC did not line up.

While looking through the dialogues now, I noticed five more sentences where "him" was used instead of <PRO_HIMHER>. I'll correct these with the next update. Thank you!

    It should work with iconv:

Thank you very much, that is very helpful! Especially as I have noticed that the ISO format is also used in other of my upcoming mods. Then I'll change this right before release to simplify the translation for other Windows systems.

You probably can have the tra files in utf-8 and still be compatible with obg2, HANDLE_CHARSET supports converting both ways if I remember correctly cdtweaks does this (or was it iwdification?).

I wasn't aware of that, thank you! For Call of the Lost Goddess I will change the tra-files to UTF-8, since the mod only runs for BG2EE at the moment anyway. I will upload an update of the mod soon, in which the tra-files are changed. This should simplify the translation. Besides, the iconv is not needed at the moment, so I can drop it.

    17 hours ago, lzw104522773 said:

I am waiting for you to update those files, and then I will start translating them into Chinese. If the text is no longer updated, I can translate other tra files first.

Yes, that's fine. I'll upload the mod in UTF-8 soon. I just need to test this version beforehand because I don't want to risk the EE crashing because some tra file wasn't converted properly.

I have a suggestion : allow the waterblade to be a scimitar. It fits druids as a natural weapon, and scimitars really need some love.

Oh, that's a very good idea! I would leave it as it is for the next update, simply because I don't want to ask the dedicated translators, who have been waiting for months for their translation to be published, to change something right now again. But I'll be happy to change this for a following update.
V 2.0 will be released tomorrow at the latest.
Call of the Lost Goddess has a very useful scimitar, too. 🙂

The english tra files seem to be in ISO-8859-15 which is not the same as utf-8 or CP1252 (used by legacy versions for western european languages).

    Just now, Roberciiik said:

It would be better to change English translation encoding to ANSI or UTF8. ISO encoding could be the issue for all other translators.

    Thanks for pointing this out!

Problem: My Notepad++ displays the tra-files as ANSI🤨

There seems to be no other option than to switch between ANSI and UTF-8. (I still keep the tra files in ANSI because I wanted to have the option to maybe make the mod compatible for oBG2.) How do I switch from ISO-8859-15 to CP1252?

  10. Thank you all for the great feedback! I hope the mod meets your expectations.

Been prepping mods left and right for my third EET run, and I was waiting on this one to top them all off!  Looks absolutely stunning.

Great! One recommendation: Before starting a new EET game, you should briefly check via Near Infinity whether the worldmap icon is placed correctly and does not interfere with other mods. While we have taken great care to prepare everything for EET, it may still occur that the worldmap icon does not end up in the intended place.

Congratulations and thanks for letting me help with the mod

Well, a big thank you to you and to all the others who contributed to the mod! Without you I would never have managed to finish this mod!

Absolutely stoked. Glad I've been prepping my BGT reinstall.

I'm really sorry, but the mod is only for BG2EE and not for classic BG2 😟:

  13. This is a known issue due to the rendering of the Enhanced Editions, as the graphics are no longer available as tilesets, but as compressed pvrz files. Since the newest version of Near Infinity has just implemented a workaround to fix this, the graphics I created for the mod will be reworked by me in one of the next versions of the mod.

  14. Thank you for your review! I'm very happy that you liked the mod.

When I downloaded this one from Kenzenburg forum, I also could download beta 0.7 of Lost Goddess, I'm eager to try it out too.

I plan to officially release Call of the Lost Goddess V 1.0 next week. This next version V 1.0 will include an official English version and lots of improvements. The currently available version V 0.9 (as well as the outdated V 0.7) was only intended for the German language, sorry.

So hang on for one more week! 😀

A preview version can already be tested from the Nightly Releases

@argent77: I have also tested this nightly NI version on several tilesets of Call of the Lost Goddess - works smoothly and delivers perfect results. And an automatic conversion from classic BG2 tiles to BG2EE is also included. 🤩

Fantastic! Thank you so much for finally solving this annoying pvrz-overlay-issue!
