  1. SFO: Cloning ITM file(s) %WIZARD_MONSTER_SUMMONING_7_SCROLL%=>dw#bgscr and applying patch(es)... ERROR Installing [Initialise AI components (required for all tactical and AI components)], rolling back to previous state Will uninstall 3458 files for [STRATAGEMS/SETUP-STRATAGEMS.TP2] component 5900. Uninstalled 3458 files for [STRATAGEMS/SETUP-STRATAGEMS.TP2] component 5900. ERROR: Failure("resource [%WIZARD_MONSTER_SUMMONING_7_SCROLL%.ITM] not found for 'COPY'") Unfortunately, the debug file is too big to be attached. I've installed SCS many, many times on separate BG installs and I've never had an issue. This is on a 2.6.6 EET install after EET_End (as usual). All mods are essentially as installed in previous installations (with 33.7), but I've included the weidu logs below just in case. UPDATE: Fixed on my own. I believe there is a new compatibility issue with AngelGryph's mod Made In Heaven Spell Pack; specifically, the component "Revised Animal/Monster Summoning." It's important to point out that there was no compatibility issue between SCS and this component prior to 34.x. WeiDU-BGEE.log WeiDU.log
  2. @Angel One more thing: For mih_tweaks, you're missing the iconv folder (or maybe you have the wrong language set somewhere?)... This prevents many components from being installed if English is chosen (and maybe otherwise). Adding an iconv folder (with the appropriate files) to the language folder fixes the issue. Here's an example: http://baldursextendedworld.com/Vanilla_Forums/discussion/473/error-charsets-were-not-converted-because-iconv-could-not-be-found-in-iconv#latest
  3. I've wiped the installs and am starting from scratch; I didn't make any individual edits to SCS files, I only downloaded the files from the thread (e.g. mage.tpa, standard_mage.ssl, and dragon_shared.tph). I verified that all are in the correct locations, with the correct line modification in standard_mage.ssl as well. Will omit some of the above mods (incl Tower of Deception which may not be EET compatible) and see how it goes this time. EDIT: Fixed. I did two things. 1) Did not install the following mods: The Grey Clan episode 1 The Lure of the Sirine's Call Tower of Deception Innershade The White Queen 2) I suspected that there might be an issue with language format from one of the mods (possibly a patch for IWD-in-EET that was incorrectly formatted in Russian). I downloaded a fresh version of iconv from Roxanne http://baldursextendedworld.com/Vanilla_Forums/discussion/473/error-charsets-were-not-converted-because-iconv-could-not-be-found-in-iconv#latest and put it in my BG2:EE folder. SCS and all other mods installed perfectly fine.
  4. I've added the various hotfixes from the main thread, that's it.
  5. Yes, it included the IWD-EET mods. The previous install was less than two weeks ago, so all versions are the same as well. The new mods not included in the previous install: Extra Enhanced Expanded Encounters 2.0 Shades of the Sword Coast The Grey Clan episode 1 The Lure of the Sirine's Call Tower of Deception Innershade The White Queen Southern Edge Tangled Oak Isle Rebalanced Poison Weapons (Tresset tweak) All other mods are exactly the same. Since these are all popular quest mods (with the exception of rebalanced poison weapons) and they are absolutely the most up-to-date github versions, it's hard to believe that they could break SCS... Yet again, it looks like I just lost two days of work (sigh) Here are examples of other errors: ERROR Installing [More realistic wolves and wild dogs], rolling back to previous state Will uninstall 2 files for [STRATAGEMS/SETUP-STRATAGEMS.TP2] component 4020. Uninstalled 2 files for [STRATAGEMS/SETUP-STRATAGEMS.TP2] component 4020. 6. 2.6.6 + EET + a number of other mods (weidu.log attached). For some reason, I'm unable to install the "initialize AI" component for SCS. I get a strange error about a particular file not existing. I got similar errors when I tried to install a few other SCS components (though others installed fine). Trying to install the "initialize AI" component a second time, I now get this error: ERROR Installing [Initialise AI components (required for all tactical and AI components)], rolling back to previous state Will uninstall 46 files for [STRATAGEMS/SETUP-STRATAGEMS.TP2] component 5900. Uninstalled 46 files for [STRATAGEMS/SETUP-STRATAGEMS.TP2] component 5900. ERROR: Failure("INNER_PATCH_SAVE \"%entry%\": read out of bounds") This is a completely fresh install, and my load order is only a little different different from the last time for me (SCS installed perfectly fine as normal on my last install). I have installed EET+mods+SCS many, many times and this is the first time this has ever happened to me. Indeed, this is my second time installing 2.6.6+EET+mods+SCS, and it worked absolutely fine last time. WeiDU.log
  7. Apologies if this has already come up, but I can't install the IWD Arcane Spell Pack on 2.6.6+EET. Getting the following Weidu error: Any ideas? EDIT: FWIW, I just tested IWD arcane and divine spells in SCS, and they install fine.
  8. @Angel Just wanted to point out that a number of components in all mods are completely absent from the included readme files. Might be worthwhile to do an audit and include the relevant descriptions. As it is, players might be reluctant to install components if they don't know what they do.
  9. Thanks for all the feedback, very helpful so far!
  10. Great point. I keep going over the 2.6 and 2.6.6 lists of bug-fixes, and they seem so impressive, but the truth is that I was able play 450+ hours with 2.5 and lots of mods, and I never had a single major bug that I ever noticed. Maybe 2.6 fixes a lot of stuff under the hood, but I definitely notice the new bugs introduced (at least when it comes to compatibility with mods).
  11. I'm just curious to sort of get a survey of BG enthusiasts on this forum who play with mod-heavy installs... Are you playing with 2.5 or 2.6.6? I ask because after two failed playthroughs with 2.6.6 on a mod-heavy EET install, I'm considering reverting to 2.5. I play with EET, SCS, and 70+ other mods. The problem is that some of these mods explicitly include support for 2.6, and I always prefer to use the latest versions. Also, 2.6+ *does* have a large number of useful bug fixes by Beamdog. I'm just curious to hear how you play Baldur's Gate.
  12. Maybe a silly question, but is the latest release (13.4) still compatible with 2.5?
  13. Just wanted to point out a bug in case it wasn't already known: The SCS component Improved Final Battle (for BG:EE) causes a bug at Sarevok's coronation in 2.6.6, preventing it from completing. More details here https://forums.beamdog.com/discussion/82023/2-6-patch-sarevok-coronation-bug-wont-complete
  14. Ah, thank you! My mistaken then! Will edit the original comment so as not to confuse.
  15. EDIT: Nevermind, this was clarified.
  16. If I'm not mistaken, the official 2.6 beamdog patch introduced a bug that would make water appear to flash during combat if the player was using a framerate other than the default of 30. This bug was fixed in 2.6.6 I'm encountering this bug in a fresh 2.6.6 install with the latest versions of EET and EET_Tweaks; the water flashing during combat is not fixed, even if the frame rate is reduced to 30. After trying to find the source of the bug, I *think* it may be caused by the "higher framerate support" EET_Tweaks component (intended to fix audio skipping issues). This is the only mod I installed that has anything to do with framerate AFAIK, and I'm just trying to figure the issue out... Maybe worth a look. Of course, I could be completely wrong about all of this...
  17. Fair enough! I find myself completely deleting my BG folders and starting from scratch a lot. Just two days ago, I had to wipe my install and start from scratch again... Nevertheless, I strongly believe that SCS should *not* restrict Weidu install until after EET_end. I believe this is contrary to K4thos' intention and contrary to the whole point of EET_end. Other modders have shown that there is no reason at all to have SCS after EET_end (or even that late in the mod install order). The whole point here is the restriction. It's fine if it's advised to install SCS late or even last or even to advise that the player install it after EET_end. That's DavidW's perogative, and it's perfectly fine. But IMHO it's *not* fine to force the player to install it after EET_end. Even EET_end has no such restriction (it can even be installed early if the player wishes, despite what the install instructions say). What's to stop K4thos or someone else from adding a new restriction in a subsequent EET release so that EET_end must be installed after SCS? This would effectively make the mods incompatible for most of the public. I don't think it's fair for modders to force such restrictions on players, especially when they are unnecessary (again, if there is any benefit whatsoever from installing SCS after EET_end instead of before, I'm not aware of it). The point is that players should have a choice.
  18. So we already know that the author of EET (as well as several other modders AFAIK) believe that it was a mistake for SCS to restrict its installation until after EET_end. More here: https://www.gibberlings3.net/forums/topic/30443-scs-latest-and-eet_end/?tab=comments#comment-271022 The problem is this: Installing new mods into an existing EET install should be easy. Simply uninstall EET_end, install the mod you want, then reinstall EET_end. Unfortunately SCS now acts to block this. If you've ever tried to uninstall a full SCS install via Weidu, you know that this is a time-consuming, even unreliable process; often the Weidu installer will simply time out. Since SCS makes more direct edits than pretty much any other mod out there, uninstalling and reinstalling it is simply impractical (if it's actually possible at all). This means that you now have a hard block in your EET install that effectively *prevents* you from uninstalling EET_end. If the justification is that any big mod (with npcs/creatures) installed over SCS would not be affected by the SCS changes, so what? That should be the player's choice. For some people, it might be more important that a companion mod or big quest mod with many creatures be properly integrated with EET (eg join dialogs, 2DA files, etc) and NOT SCS. People should have that option.
