    Give them throwing daggers!

You do know that a throwing dagger and even a short swords has quite a size difference. In-game, and out of game.
Hmm, is this topic a bit mislabled. Being it 'new' in the year 2022, ... while it's from 2019 originally ? Just though I would throw that as an idea.

What about a fence that gives EXP for items sold to him instead of money, or gives money but that money is immediately traded for EXP?

-well, technically the wizard spell scrolls are these type items. All you need to do is to remove a spell you know, relearn it from a scroll and vola 1000xp per spell level is yours.

(Most spells have a "minimum" caster level for their effects, corresponding to the level a full caster would need to have a spell slot of that level.)

And this can* crash the game if your caster level isn't high enough. *At least in the past it did, when spells didn't carry level 1 versions of themselves... And you can still likely see this in spells like fireball, when a level 1 mage casts fireball spell, it's casts at level 7 with respect of looking at the damage (7d6).

  4. Well, then it's not scripting studder, but something else. The other things are all mentioned here. Except the fact that if you play on the EE engine, you don't need to do the Generalized Biffing that it's mentioned there in. As the newer engine run so much better ... well with more than 32 MBs of RAM, the program should run so much better ...

..as for the later reply, it matters not to me. Well, except that you get your replies later.

Like I said, helmets were chosen because items equipped in the headslot attach an overlay to the animation, wings in this case.

Aka, the games characters animations are build around layers of over layed pictures, and when one layer covers another, they are set in an order that is known, and also the animations that are not shown are usually just transparent pixel space, to save room for additional data in the file system, and to save RAM, the few megabytes that we had. Cloaks have nothing that shows them as a layer, which is why the wings were made to occupy the helm slot in the Erephine's mod, as it can be used to display them well.

    Sadly, that link doesn't work.

    Cheers!

It works if you remove the /revision... part and everything after of course.
Hmm... I have played a game with a map like the above, and I swear it wasn't with Tutu... must be memory problems from old age.

Also, I found BG Tutu images of the world map. Which EE mods do this?

None. that's the original BG1(+TotSC) map. That Tutu probably just replaced it's worldmap with. 😆

I played a dual classed human Fighter 9/Druid 10 once and got to 3 million XP.

That's entirely possible if you sleep/cheat in the BG1 story, as you get well enough amounts of xp via rest interruptions, or just summon demons or the like.

I did not recall that at all. Might be worth making a mod that applies specialist usability exclusions to wands and similar items…

    It's mostly scrolls.

Look one letter to the right? How do you mean? 🤔 WZLL BHVS? Still makes no sense!  🤣

It's called qwerty -keyboard, which would be the assumed keyboard character set ...
But how the hell did you get W from a V ? 😮 EDIT: never mind, you got a Dvorak -key layout.

Divine Remix purports to fix the sphere system (disclaimer, I haven't tried it and I can explain why in a minute)

You didn't actually explain. But when I tried it, I desided to uninstall it and never return to the mod because the sphere system for a priest, when they contain only 1 or 2 spells and you get 3 spheres is VYKK AGUR(to decode, just look one letter to the right), without healing spells.

No. Just no. What one should use is their own judgement, and make their own desitions on what to follow. That's one of the projects, BUT outside of this topic...
There are other ways to do things than just follow one line to oblivion.
Now, yes, I saw also that Roxanne's primary support site is down. But there was changes made to the github page just a few days ago.

Keep in mind that there's one giant pitfall and one optional pitfall in IWDEE compared against BGEE, which needs to be handled by SCS internally first:

     - the ARE maps setting the AI scripts. BG allowed this already but most of the time this wasn't used and AI scripts were fine being utilized via the CRE script slots. That is not the case in IWD, because the CRE script slot values are overridden by the ARE maps. Those need to be handled systematically. Most of the CRE files in IWDEE lack any script setup, which can easily lead to SCS populating a slot which then ends up overridden in ARE.

     - the area INI files can also override CRE script values but this one is only used in IWD2 IIRC, so handling this one is optional.

Are you actually sure any of this is relevant in the Icewind Dale stories we are talking here about aka the EE stuff ? Cause it might have been so in non-EE IWD, but we are talking about a modified BG2EE engine after all...
And there is no IWD2 that has any compatiblity with any of the other games or the EE engine, so the last part is trash. As in, you would need to import the data from that game to BG2EE engine compatible system, and that conversion should take this into a notion, if it's needed, but leave no bad cases behind. Ouh, there's already such conversions... ones that K4thos was reportedly using and Sarevok57's mod was the other, if memory serves.

  12. 9 hours ago, pete_smith1229 said:

and a lot of assets has been transferred from IWD:EE to BE:EE, the reverse should be possible.

Actually, the IWD was ported to BG2EE, and that's how you got the game. ... in simple terms. And it was possible by SCS coder making an IWD to BG2 conversion mod first, and that had SCS type enemy AI, with a tweakpack it had, back in the days of jore-to-yong.
Now, to bring this to the current situation, SCS itself is unlikely to be able to be ported to the IWDEE without DavidW's help, but you could just take the BG2EE, install SCS on it, and copy the script files it has made and retroactively port those with the required needed files and so forth to IWDEE, and there you go. you have custom AI components you need to make a -psuedo SCS in IWDEE.

  13. Is the intent to 1) try and see what goes off and ruins your run, or 2) get a stable game ?
    1. Sure, yes, you can go ahead and install everything before iwdfication, extracted etc in the game, then install ... then exit that install, remove all the setup-modname.exe's so far, and install your less than norm mod, delete that setup...exe and setup-.tp2, open weidu.log, and delete the last mods lines, and then pick up where the BWP left off and quote out the needed sections and continue. After you manually auto-updated the rest of the weidu.exe's to v246.
PS, do take your time to know what knowledge is needed to be left so the install continues and doesn't try to restart and you probably should have a backups etc just in case.
    2. NOPE !!!

I'd say Baldurdash being a hard requirement for Vlad Compilation mods is an overstatement.

Thing with this is, the (non-EE) BG2 games script files(11 of them, I had a list it you are intrested ) were a disaster just waiting to happen, and without the G3BG2Fixpack, they didn't work ... unless you fixed them yourself, so that's where the Baldurdash came into play. The difference between the fixes were moding stands ... and but let's not talk about it here.

    The list is this: rdog.bcs, rdwarf.bcs, retter.bcs, rgibbler.bcs, rhalflin.bcs, rhobcoba.bcs, rhobcobf.bcs, rkobold.bcs, rogre.bcs, rsiren.bcs and rsirene.bcs ...

By changing racial condition, as I described before, I disabled additional EXC_STR roll, that happens before stat rolls, for ELF, and 104 rolls became a)unstuck and b)much more frequent. I think Ihave to look at rand() implementation in EE more closely.

This doesn't only do that unfortunately, as the race has minimum stat line you can see in https://gibberlings3.github.io/iesdp/files/2da/2da_bgee/abracerq.htm

Like the name inclines, requirements which are for an elf, far higher than for a human. Requirements that if not met, "allow a reroll" until they are met.

And then there's the ab_class/kit_addons and the ab_race_additives ... all this make the human have smaller actual chance to give them the total amount of max stat.

I suspect that, several decades ago... in a public space would be likely to result in consequences more negative than removal of the material and pre-emptive review of further contributions in the same public space.

And then there were times when nothing of the sort would have happened.
You do know your purity culture is just an antithesis to something, which was the same for other things and thing keeps rolling because the world keeps turning. And while people search themselves, they need bounders to misplace to/grind-against themselves. It's what's called being young.

Didn't have the time to read the OP's misplaced excrement, wouldn't have bothered ...
As for a reply to why to subtledoctor, I would suspect termix has misconception of investment. I had it ones... then I grew just old, but NOT wise. 😀

@Jarno Mikkola He means an image of something that doesn't exist in real life. A camera obscura just projects light from an object into a dark room, it doesn't generate fantasy images of things that don't exist. Before CGI, film also relied on props and drawings to create an illusion of something unreal. His point stands: Before digital tech, to create an image of something truly unreal you would have to draw it.

Right. As it happens, the CO can be made to show you unreal things. Like say ghost pictures. This was a hit in the 1920's.

A simple thought once struck me, looking at some fine paperbacks from the 1970s, that before computers, Photoshop automation and clip art, the ability to ACTUALLY draw was the only way a picture could be made.)

Right, so you never heard of the camera obscura then, dated to 500 years before the current conting started. Cause photos have been able to be made before the chemicals were invented for the photograph, they were just drawn with pensil, or equalent, and then painted over with paint, and thus was a new graft made, picture painting. Now, try and draw a picture of the lie that has left you out of that loop for how long, and we can forget about the simple lunacy of what you suggested. And then there was silent movies, and talkies etc.

Now, of course that single point doesn't remove the points you have made here.

    Silly chimps.

I don't think so, thing is, the chimp does what it needs to, to get fed. They are victoms of an abuse, but then again, they wouldn't exist if they were not. Yes, the chicken and the egg problem. Which reminds me, that relationship is also really bad, with us humans. But then again, I need to feed my bacteria in my gut to get something out of it, and having blood in there doesn't help... yeah, it's that bad. So ... who's the real victom here ?
In the inevitable end, you'll see, it's: No one.

Our family's intention for a megamod install was to have a rotating cast of NPCs for story purposes.

It's actually guite hard to convince oneself to stick with one group of NPCs for the whole of the story as they extinguish themselves fast and there aren't many that have the possibility to do it with, as the roster get thinner real fast if you just op-in the whole EET.

, the game already gives you a bunch of divine powers rooted in your being sired by a god. They come from within; they come from dreams? Is it so difficult to think...

Yes, for one reason alone, and it's this:

Not for nothing the kit allows the player to be self-directed and choose your own spell selection as you advance.

That's not how magic works in the Realms.

If you can't role-play something like that... might want to see a doctor, sounds like your imagination might be busted.

Or the other possibility is that your are insane/unreasonable, so ... I'll just go with that.
Now, if one was to draw the power from the inheritance they got from Bhall... the point where those powers were taken by Irenicus, would kill that character for sure. Good arguments. Just for the wrong side.

though I can't tell you why.

Like I already said, the "computer random number generation" is not random. It's a series of randomly set, but set numbers*. So if you ask it to give you six sixes in a row, it will give you those, but it will not give you a random number after those sixes from it's generator, cause there's only so many number rows it has stored to give you the possibility of six 6's.

*easy example, any modern graphic calculator, depending on the model of course, will give you the exact number when you give it the order to pick a random number between 1 and a 100**, when it's asked to do so the first time. **Or really any numbers you like. This is because the function seeded so to speak.
