  1. Components in installation Hi Demi, I am sure you have lots to do, but I would like to ask you to make a separate component for each class in the mod (fighters, rangers, paladins, thieves etc.). It would be very nice to have some more control over the installation process.
  2. Stalker's Weapon Proficiencies Some interesting information on Spears. I see that I have been a bit too dismissive towards them, and that they do have niche roles to fill. I don't understand the point about backstab damage from spears though? A Fighter/thief can't backstab with an axe, so I don't see why a Stalker being able to use a spear, means that he can backstab with it? Ranger kits armor restrictions In my current BG:EE game my ranger cannot use the Ankheg Plate, which he should be able to, given that it is a medium armor? I think that is a very sensible approach. I very much like your idea for Skald I think the only thing left to say then, is that you better step up your modding speed, so I can play with more revised classes! (joking of course - take the time you need )
  3. It is functionally a Plate Mail. Same damage reduction and penalties. And it is not usable by the standard Ranger. It seems strange to me, that the Beastmaster gets access to better armors as a *penalty*
  4. Stalker's Weapon Proficiencies With regards to spears being "underused" I mean as a class focus, yes. They have worse damage type than both Two-Handed Swords and Quarterstaffs and still relatively low damage. At the moment, the only class I see where spears make sense are druids. And even then using a Scimitar and a buckler will likely be a lot better. It is not a strong point for me, however, as I recognize that they thematically aren't the best fit for the Stalker. I just dislike seeing a cool weapon type being relatively useless, even though IR does help a lot. Ranger kits armor restrictions Beastmasters can also use heavy armors like Ankheg Plate? That seems strange given that the base class is limited to Splint Mail? I love the Splint Mail limit for the Ranger though
  5. Tracking already has 50%-60% chance, and 100% against the quarry. The advantage over thief's Detect Illusion is that the ranger can still fight while looking out for hidden enemies. I'm curious to hear morefeedback on this ability and its cousin, Hunter's Quarry. I have a couple of issues with it. First of all, thiefs can still attack while using Detect Illusions. They just need to choose a target first, and then activate DI afterwards. Maybe not intended behaviour, but it definitely works. While you are correct about Quarry, it is simply not enough to only work on one enemy. Most backstab situations have at least two or three backstabbers, and only revealing one through quarry+tracking still leaves you very vulnerable. In those cases you will need to use either Purge Invisibility, Detect Invisibility or similar. And if you do that, there is no point in giving up your movement speed - which is a substantial penalty in my opinion. I like the concept of tracking + Hunter's Quarry but I don't think the benefits outweigh the drawbacks in its' current implementation. Increasing to 75% for the upgraded tracking would give a fair chance. With three thiefs attacking you, you would have 42% chance per round to dispel all of them (if rolls are individual?) without using Hunter's Quarry.. And activating both Hunter's Quarry and then Tracking will more often that not take so much time, that the thief can land a backstab. Stalker I don't know. The stalker's stealthy approach doesn't really suggest long bows and spears imo, and gameplay wise they do not even suit the backstab mechanic. Why do you think it needs less restrictions? I think the current restrictions are too severe. While I am definitely on board with not allowing two-handed swords, axes, flails etc. I still think that the Stalker kit is a Warrior class at its base. Leaving it with thief weapons only is a very harsh restriction. Long bows seem to me to be quintessential Ranger Weapons, and should therefore be allowed. Spears, I grant you, makes less sense theme wise. However they do sort of fall within the "light" weapon category and are currently underused. Armor restrictions Oh and just a thought. Did it occur to you, that all the Ranger kits are limited to Studded Leather? While I can see the case being made for each and one of them, it feels a bit strange to have the same penalty for all of them.. Edit: Unless "not wear metal armors" for Beastmaster allows armors like Ashen Scales? In that case, feel free to disregard these musings
  6. Stalker I think his weapon restrictions are too strict. He should at the very least be able to use long bows in my opinion. Spears and composite long bows would also be cool. In BG2EE I can still put proficiency points into weapons he can't use. I guess you know this, but thought I'd still mention it. Edit: I like the spellcasting for the Ranger though. Many good choices that has nice synergy for him.
  7. Yes I am using EE.. So no fix in sight?
  8. Misaligned weapons A lot of the weapons in my install are slightly misaligned, being placed a bit behind the characters hand in the inventory screen. Not a huge issue per se, but definitely annoying. Does anyone know what causes it, and is there any way to fix it?
  9. Tracking I think tracking needs a boost. There are many other ways to dispel invisibility and I am severely hampering my Rangers combat ability by trying to get a small chance to dispel it. I would recommend something like 40-50% for basic tracking and maybe 75% for the upgraded tracking. This may seems high but both clerics and mages can dispel invisibility without fail and thiefs don't get movement speed penalty using Detect Illusion.
  10. Well that explains that then I thought I saw some inconcistences between my version and what Kreso wrote about.. Will Beastmaster feature in the next version? (And any comments on content/ possible ETA? )
  11. Wild Empathy Does not summon a wolf at level 4. Does not function at will. Bestmaster Has Find Familiar as innate. Not Animal Companion. Has Both ASI and ASIV as level 1 spells, ASII and ASV as 2nd level spells and ASIII and ASVI as 3rd level spells with ASIV as 4th level spell.
  12. I checked and the spells level is correct. Does anyone else has such an issue? The error isn't with the spell I think. Iirc, Jaheira also gets spells she shouldn't (CLW, Bless and similar). Probably something with "Update NPC spellbooks". Jaheira doesn't get the Cleric only spells in my setup.
  13. Monster Summoning III scroll uses the icon of MS I.
  14. Animal summoning Just reinstalled all my mods and found something rather weird. Jaheira has access to all the animal summoning spells, but AS II and III are placed at level 4 along with AS IV. This only happens for her. I tested with a Figther/Druid and single class druid and both of them had the spells in their appropriate slot. This is most likely an issue with one of my other mods, but I thought I'd still mention it here. My weidu is:
  15. This is a repost from a seperate topic "Weird Silke Encounter". I repost it here to make sure it will be seen. "Finally got around to play BG1 again and experienced the same "bug" with Silke. She uses contingency during the encounter, which she should not have access to." Screenshots: Precast: Contingency: My Weidu:
  16. I can not install the new beta version of SR on BG:EE. The component "Item Revisions" won't install. No other mods. It seems the problem is installing Main_Bracers_Of_Speed.tpa
  17. I am not positive that it is an SR issue, but when I try to create a Wild Mage and have to select which spells to memorize in BG1, I can only memorize one of two and can't continue from there. Can anyone else confirm the issue?
  18. There is no Torgal.spl file in my override folder. Removing all Torgal file still didn't solve the problem. (incidentally, does anyone know how to use CLUA or EEKeeper to "complete" d'Arnisse Keep?) Oops Thanks Kreso.
  19. Torgal won't die The Troll Problem is not completely solved yet. Torgal still won't drop down and die. The issue seems to be solved with other trolls though.
  20. Ah ok so it is just not displayed on character screen.
  21. Nalia's Ring Nalia's ring gives +2 luck with IR. It does not give +2 to minimum damage, however, which I thought it was supposed to?
  22. Inquisitor Lay on Hands Cures Feeblemind but does not remove the portrait icon.
  23. Talos Priest: Stormshield The innate Stormshield spell of the Priest of Talos is gone with SR. It seems like it only exists as a level 3 cleric spell now and the innate version has been deleted.
