Interesting fight with werewolves

Hello,

First i must say that i really enjoy both SCS and SCS2 and i've been a long time fan. Today i almost fell of the chair laughing when my party returned from ww isle and had fight with Mendas. I didn't remember that both of the guys were casters (earlier i could swear they fought as werewolves). Anyway Mendas went down in seconds, but his other friend (whose name escapes me now) decided to even things out. Guy summoned not one BUT FOUR fallen planetars to even out the battle field! Gotta say that was the funniest moment i've had with bg mods EVER. I run heavily modded game, but scs was installed the last (before some tweaks). After my party was literally chunked, i reloaded and finished the encounter by focusing on the other guy first. :)

Ok weidu file coming up. I have also experienced some minor bug with some bears not turning hostile when attacked (no red circle). I have most likely screwed up installation somehow...

I actually had the same problem with bears with a different installation, which was basically somewhat similar but with hard times mod and few npc mods on top of this current installation. Current installationis absolutely clean with the mods installed on top of easytutu latest version.

One clarification to the previous comment. I meant to say that my current installation is a fresh one on a new laptop with the mods listed on weidu file. I have not done any uninstalls (mods) or anything. Maybe some creature corrections were done twice or something.. But still i feel the problem could be SCS related conflict with other mods or components.

I'm a bit confused as to how you can have avoided getting EasyTutu/BG1TUTU on your WEIDU.log. My guess is that your installation has got tangled somehow - I've just failed to reproduce this on a clean install.

As the EasyTutu makes it's own game directory, it's never mentioned, at least in the larger version of the install, where it copies most of the BGII data to the new Tutu directory.

duh, of course - sorry.

(I still don't see where this bug comes from, though.)

The latest version of BG1 UB made some changes to Baresh I think. Is it possible these are interacting with SCS? The BG1 UB readme simply says "Fixed patching of Baresh"...

I recall there were some issues with Baresh summoning planetars in an earlier version of SCS, but that was on BGT not Tutu.

Thanks for the heads-up ... but no, I don't think so. (I haven't tried an install test, but looking through BG1UB I don't see that it can be causing a problem.)

I also observed this on one of my attempts to defeat Mendas. I don't remember the exact circumstances - I think I left most of my party outside his house to let my tank deal with it - but what happened was that Baresh did not turn red when Mendas did. Figuring I'd roll with it and deal with him later, I finished off Mendas, only to find a flock of fallen planetars (or solars? don't remember) waiting for me when I went back into the main room (after chasing & killing Mendas in the bedroom). This was an isolated incident, however; I only saw it happen once. Usually Baresh turned red at the same time as Mendas, cast a few spells, then shifted to werewolf form (whether or not I attacked him).

I'd also like to comment that, having only two weapons (Werebane Dagger and (bastard) Sword of Balduran) capable of hitting the greater werewolves, with no credible melee character in my party proficient in those weapon types, made the greater werewolf fights rather difficult given the greater werewolves' regeneration rate (primary tank / main character was 8th-level Cavalier at the time). Also, the werebane dagger description is identical to a normal dagger, although my record screen seemed to indicate that it was a +3 weapon (vs. everything, not just lycanthropes, assuming that it does indeed use dagger proficiency).

Btw, I'm not really looking for a fix, since I've arrived at a generally stable configuration that I don't want to mess with and have passed the Isle of Balduran stage; I'm just sending this in the hope that you find it helpful. I've also used the "v9 (Unoffical hotfix)" version of SCS, so I apologize if the data is too old.
