Problem with 'More consistent Breach spell' and liches.

I somewhat suspect this is bugged too after doing kangaxx and twisted rune in ch2... I had absolutely no chance without temporarily recruiting keldorn for his cheese dispell + carosmyr. With keldorn though it was trivially easy to kill kangaxx because I timed two sunrays to kill the lich then improved haste to beat down the Demi lich with carosmyr hammer +4 v giantkind and sling of eversed.

Twisted rune I couldn't beat without cheesing shandalar with 4 traps though.

Just tested on a random lich from a pack spawn, breach did not remove anything after hitting it with whip, ruby ray, 2x pierce magic and secret word. Enough defenses did to down for me to melee interrupt it and kill it with a Sunray though, good thing because I ran into it when I was out of spell immunities and imp haste...

I don't have this problem. I've installed the relevant feature and both Rakshasas and Liches can be breached, same as any other oponnent. I don't have CTD with De'Arnise....but this may be relevant on which batch spawns on top of the stairs.

I had issues with other creatures in De'Arnise - enemies which I avoided fighting would follow me to the next floor and would spawn there instantly when I arrived.

Also, Spectral Harpists drop potions. :D

I am running BGII:EE with only SCS and David's multistronghold components.

Good thing PfMW is so short and that magic damage goes through Stone Skin to interrupt...

Also, a couple of sunrays does wonders vs liches, I've been just running in with invis with 2 characters and blasting them.

Well at least it's not only me then. The only mod I've installed is SCS, so any potentially harmful interaction should not be the issue. Odd that Kreso does not have the issue, that is odd. You are running BGII:EE like me right?

No, I have EE but I use some mods like Refinements etc which are incompatible with it so I play BGT.

Ah alright, kryptix is also running EE, so it would most likely be something related to that, as to what more specifically, I have no idea.

Happy holidays!

I actually tried a bunch of things on Deirex but even spell strike was not removing his protections and I ended up winning by sending a steady stream of skeleton warriors at him while a deva tanked...

Registered to the forums here to say that I'm currently having the same problem. Rammed Deirex with 5 Ruby Rays of Reversal, a Khelben's warding whip and three pierce shield spells then tried to breach him three times and absolutely nothing. Only way I've been able to damage him at all has been the poison damage from the flail of ages. I'm re-installing the breach component to see if that helps at the moment. On BG2EE.

Has anyone worked out any quick fixes in the mean time?

Literally just had the same problem. Only I just tanked through all his spells with Mazzy @ 100% Fire Resistance until his protections ran out. The trapped Lich in the Underdark, I just surrounded with all characters and killed him the first attack round before he got up any protection with summons, since I had the same problem with Breach not working on him.

BG2EE, naturally.

And you didn't use CTRL-R to first remove all his buffs right? Because doing so fixes it for me, and enables me to breach them just fine.

[And you didn't use CTRL-R to first remove all his buffs right? Because doing so fixes it for me, and enables me to breach them just fine.

Yes I did, and now I got same thing as you people. But I know what causes this. Liches wear a ring which SCS modifies NOT to include immunity to spell level 5, but rather immunity to specific spells of 5th level, so that Breach spell would work. However, upon meeting a Lich, his script casts spell on him.(DW#licim.spl) which grants him some immunites. One of them is the one causing Breach to be innefective, immunity to spell level 5. I just edited out the specific immunity (he should, and does get it already with his ring) from dw#licim.spl and he is breached, without CTRL-R beforehand - doing that removed the spell dw#licim.spl effect from him, hence he was breachable. If you can handle NearInfinity, it's an easy fix.
