can't load ini

The gemrb is a cool program that I can play in BG without the stupid emulation of Windows system on Unix. Right?

So I installed Unix-like system on my friend machine. And I want to test my mod in Linux at BG2:EE.

But when I start gemrb I got something like this

bla-bla-bla

......

bla-bla-bla

Can't load INI

Boom! Nuclear Explosion. Fallout.

THE END.

How I can fix it.

Hello.

GemRB doesn't work with EEs yet. Abandon ship.

OMFG! I hope gemrb can load at least GUI and then I will see what exactly my mod is doing on/

And you're using an old version. And you either misconfigured it or misinstalled

This is impossible because I am genius! O_o. I am joking , I will reinstall that gemrb. I omitted a paths to CD1, CD2, and so on in gemrb.cfg I hope the reason is not there....

What mod did you want to test?

I want to test my own GUI mod that modifying *.MOS files and *.CHU files. (For now I have only edited exported *.MOS, but I need to test it before I will modify *.CHU)

that type of mod should work just fine, I wouldn't even bother testing.

I downloaded gemrb-0.8.4.tar.gz. Read instructions for an installation process.

Then I typed in console:

~/gemrb-0.8.4>mkdir build~/gemrb-0.8.4>cd build~/gemrb-0.8.4/build>cmakebash: cmake: command is not found~/gemrb-0.8.4/build>
Okay, I said, lets do it. I downloaded GemRB-v0.8.3-nmake-vs10.zip

~/GemRB-v0.8.3>./gemrb.exebash: ./gemrb.exe: access denied~/GemRB-v0.8.3>
Is there any solutions for this demhappens?

of course. If you want to build gemrb, you need to install all its dependencies - cmake is just one, but they're all listed in the build instructions.

 

or if you want to run the older release for windows, you'll need wine.

this "cmake" are not included in gemrb package ... amazing, so how I can to download and install it? The all dependencies ? So I need manually install the hell bunch of a programs O_o . I have no wine ;P I tried to install it, but I have no success and I just borrowed this idea. Omfg...

It appears you are a fresh user of linux, since all of this flew over your head. I suggest you use the precompiled binaries.

 

And remember, we don't support EEs fully yet. Since they did a bunch of new stuff to the gui, also to have it resizable, I doubt it would just work out.

Yes it is, I using a pre-made binaries for Linux but I have got an "access denied" answer from the console.

gemrb.exe is not a linux binary, it's for windows. If you just haven't posted that attempt yet, remember to make it executable first (chmod +x thegemrbbinary)

GEMRB is not working for me. I tried chmod +x hopeless, I tried to install cmake machine said that I have not root password :(, so it is hopeless and 0.8.1 gemrb is broke_installed :( so even this stuff I can not run with BG2:EE to test my shet.

 

Is there any suggestions?

Just a note, EE changed to a scripted gui in 2.0 so the divergence just increased. Even if you could use GemRB for the EE 1.3 gui, your mod will be rapidly outdating.

Divergence? :D I do not know about such a complicated definitions :D . Yeah, it will be outdated, but this mod made 'just for me', so it will be outdated before I will , hmmm, went to the 'filibusters' and there I will found 2.0, then I will try to play, but I will realize that mode is not stack-able so I will modife the mod :D , because I want to play! Yeah, I am little bit game addictive...

 

But thanx anyway for the advice, I hope GemRB will be an easily compilable with EE.
