Clicking the Staff of the Magi should make the character invisible.
For example: When Nalia equips the staff she turns invisible immediately. If she attack someone with staff of the magi or talk to someone then invisible dissappear. That's correct. But when you click on her staf again she doesn't turn invisible again. The original game (and BG2EE v1.3, 2.1, 2.2 as well) allows that behaviour. So, you could clicking on the staff 6 times in a row and 6 invisble effect was granted. Currently it is not possible anymore that way. It works only when you switch between the staff and another weapon.
Is it hardcode related bug and we must wait for developers to fixing this issue. Or maybe it's a trivial one. What do you think about it

If it's something we can change it's going to be in the UI, but I'm not familiar enough with the UI to poke around.

The behavior was altered because it broke other items (those that provide spell slots), while the staff's invisibility can still be reactivated by switching.

Clicking the quickslot button would re-equip the weapon, which would first removed its effects.  That momentary loss of spell slots would unmemorize whatever spell occupied them.

Since clicking the equipped quickslot button is intended and necessary to issue a forced-attack/bash action, it shouldn't be tied to other mechanics (re-equipping).

Insomniator's ToBEx AfterLife includes a component that keeps drained spells in the spell book so you don't have to rememorize them when you regain the slots. Something similar may be requested of Beamdog as a code change, although they've already stated in an official capacity that they won't be adding new features to the game. Might be one for EEEx.
