only All Things Mazzy is incompatible with beta (compatible with latest 6.52) and their own simplified economy component from IA Tweaks (good idea but currently buggy, completely messes up Cromwell - "can you upgrade Delryn Family Shield?" - "yes, I can take two rings +2 and make ring +3" - LOL) also item upgrades mods like Sod to BG2EE are incompatible.

and IA 6.6 (7 beta) is really very interesting. some great improvments to clerics (but they should really also unnerf spells like chaotic commands and implement SR version of npp) and shamans. some great improvments to npc like Hexxat for example (and even Dorn!!), but sadly is still full of crap (dispels offscreen, wacko resistances, uninterruptible enemy casters coz they are like wink wink nudge nudge casting from a scroll) and basically unplayable for normal people. example: new improved golems hit AC of -20 like it is nothing for 70 damage non crit!!! on core rules. and not only that, they are also dispel on hit, mirror image, blur etc. BONKERS!!!

I give Grey and Hexxat godly stats and almost the same resistances IA human enemy had, tweaked some items via NI and the mod finally become (barely) playable. FOR EXPIERENCED PLAYERS ONLY!!!

Hello InKal,

I am one of the people working on Improved Anvil right now. It's good to see a thread about the mod on other forums than BWL.

sorry, black wyrm forum didn't send me new password. ;[

Maybe you could create a new account and write a PM to Baronius, asking if he could help?

well, IA is actually compatible 100% with almost everything. maybe it is their work or maybe it was just forced by EE engine, not sure.

Unfortunately this isn't the case. From what I know, up till IAv6.0 almost all resources in the mod were created by directly editing needed files, without using Weidu, and we haven't had enough time to change that in newer versions. This means that IA directly copies and pastes its files into the override folder regardless of the fact that some other mod could have already made some changes to that file. As a result, you may experience issues during your playthrough, even if you didn't get any errors while installing your mods.

Hmm, is something wrong with current Chaotic Commands spell? It's very useful protecting from most nasty effects and spells, like enemy sequencers with Greater Malison + Chaos.

I've never played with SR mod installed, but from the description of the spell in Readme file, I see that it's extremely powerful and almost completely negates the possibility of being drained. It has long duration and cannot be dispelled by enemy attacks, so you just apply it to all characters and Vampires become just your standard melee fighters. PnP version of NPP works only for 1 hit, which is an overkill, so in IA enemies have a chance to dispel it.

Any plans on not messing up the animations array?

Like... why does the IWD Iron Golem uses the Rhinoceros Beetle filenames (MBRH instead of MGIR), the IWD2 Worg using the IWD2 Goblin Worgrider filenames (MGWO instead of MWOR), the IWD2 Orog Shaman a Lizardman... the list goes on?

The EEs already include the info to provide slots for IWD2 animations.

I can sorta understand the issues with the PST animations like for example the Ghoul Queen which ended up using the Greater Ghoul slot, but the IWD section has spare slots on the EEs and there's absolutely zero reason to overwrite other animation slots, especially when FIND_FREE_ANIM is in the common macros thread. Additionally keep in mind how this one is used in SoD,. so this regresses EET.

No, @InKal,  Improved Anvil isn't compativble with anything, if it ignores one of the core EE features outrght and just overwrites stuff on a whim.

The other replies are correct, it's hardly compatible with anything. Small mods could probably get away with being installed on top of IA, but I'm pretty sure something would become broken or would not work as intended. It might just not be noticeable at first glance.

Yeah, it was not tested extensively. People played with it numerous times, but didn't report anything gamebreaking. I guess they did not run into this particular bug.

hmm... looks like there is litarally three people playing this mod and no player base at all. too bad, IA is extremely hard but pretty good actually. I was trying to maybe....ehhh...wahtever...

A bit more, actually, but you're not far from the truth 🙂

sorry, black wyrm forum didn't send me new password. ;[

Seems like there's an issue with the mail delivery, password recovery isn't the only thing that does not work.

The animation thing was an experiment, compatibility wasn't the primary consideration at the moment, but there's no harm in fixing it, I guess. Thanks for pointing that out. As for the overwriting, yes, it's a legacy issue with the mod.

Were y'all amidst updating Improved Anvil not to directly overwrite files but instead patch them?

Ever since the mod was ported to EE, all of the new changes were mostly done by patching things. Overwriting stuff is a legacy issue, as mentioned above, the one that I am not sure how to fix efficiently. There's too much stuff inside to convert everything by hand, and my attempts to automate the procedure didn't get past the early prototypes. Granted, I didn't try very hard, for there seemed to be little payoff for all the required effort.

Assuming I'd sit down to fix it, which is the current branch of development to file a patch against? Even the network isn't exactly helpful... diid @SparrowJacek took over the main development now?

feature/v7 is the main branch. But I believe that @SparrowJacek wanted to take a look at it himself first (Jacek, correct me if I'm wrong). But thanks for the offer, if you do find the time to send a MR, we'd appreciate it.

No, I'm still doing the primary maintenance and slowly working on v7 whenever I get a minute. But Jacek has been helping out a lot with various new changes to graphics and animations, as well as doing some of his own patches to the main branch and experimenting in separate branches, such as the recent v6.6-beta.

Yes, I wanted to take a look at that to learn what I've done wrong and how to avoid that in the future. @Graion Dilach if you decide to help, it will be very much appreciated! What is more, I will be able to study your changes to have a reference for any other animations we might add to the mod.
