After I paniced and stressed for about half an hour,I calmed down and saw that something had got into the BIOS and screwed around with things.But seriously,the worst half hour in recent memory

From what I've seen over the past 2 years in the modding community,I would never start a mod

 

I do have all my work from the past year and a half on this thing,and I would have quickly found a roof to leap from had I lost it all.

As another victim of computer death, I can sympathize. I tend to keep hard copies of everything, though..so glad I did.

c:\fdisk /mbr

 

WARNING: DO NOT USE WITH NT/2000/XP!!!!!!!!

 

if that doesn't work, its time to use linux fdisk to try to recover the master boot record...and its just not worth the hastle if you've set up multiboot and lilo loader...

 

but a corrupted boot sector is not a joke, and usually means a virus...lucky it was just the bios..

 

always assume when ever you are experimenting that something will break...and badly..
