What is the best frame rate to run BG2? You can set it in Configuration. The default is apparently 30 updates per second, but I noticed the message on the dialogue bar that you can speed it up. I have 3D acceleration enabled, and I'm running a NVIDIA e-GeForce 7800 GTX video card (2G of RAM if that matters). tnx in advance

I've played a lot at 40 FPS, but I noticed that faster frame rates get bogged down by excessive scripting faster, even on a fast machine (I have a Sempron 3000+)

I found 30 to be alright. My videocard support much higher frame rates, but I never found anyhting of real use in them.

I don't know about the "best" frame rate, but I've found 36-37 suits me well. Makes moving across the vast outdoor areas of BG1 a bit quicker, and when combined with auto-pausing when enemies are discovered, it seems perfectly safe.
