Adding an effect to an existing item...

WeiDU question, obviously :).


I know (or at least I think I know :)) how to alter the effects of items which already have an effect, but say I wanted to make regular longswords (SW1H04) have a 5% chance of causing the target to bleed, how would I go about doing this?

A better example may be in the Tutu fixpack. I patched in a 1% chance of a weapon breaking (though I think Sim adjusted it upwards since it was too low). The breaking effect was accomplished by having a spell cast on the character that replaced the weapon... the same code would work, you would just need to jigger some of the WRITE_BYTEs and such to change the opcode and settings.
