Gavin might be more than a week away

Heroic alpha testing by a truly wonderful, amazing, and otherwise way cool modder (who shall remain nameless unless she wants to be identified) has uncovered a lot of bugs in Gavin's alpha, as well as some areas where content could be significantly improved. She actually managed to finish the game with him, which is more than I've been able to do, as I always seem to get to a certain point and then "Oops! New alpha. Install again."

 

One of the points of this is that Gavin's alpha is not so buggy it can't be fixed. That's encouraging.

 

I had hoped to make Gavin's alpha available for public testing early next week, but I may be pushing that back a bit. The bugs are squashed, but some of the new content is going to take a while to integrate.

 

I am confident that your patience will be rewarded with a higher quality mod than would otherwise have been the case.

 

Anyway, I'm looking for alpha testers for the new, improved material, which has already been mostly debugged, so please shoot me a PM if you're able to do so on this forum, or send me an email at rtannahill at msn dot com.

 

If you are a bam and/or animation artist that would like to do something silly and completely unnecessary and over-the-top, and kind of sappy, please do likewise. Miloch, I suspect you wouldn't like this job. It's *way* girlie.

We are not in a race. Take your time, hunt the nasty bugs and cook us a wonderful NPC, that's all we ask for.

 

Next week or the week after is not *SO* important (a bit though, for those of us without patience )

Hey, I'm happy! I had no idea *any* of the code for anything after chapter 4 would actually work, as I've never gotten that far in my own testing before coming up with a new alpha.

 

Anyway, anything I'm adding now is window dressing. I'm just tying up loose ends, fleshing out a few flirts for the romantically inclined or a bit of chatter for those who would rather simply befriend him.

 

And I'm trying to make sure he can tell the difference. I had a bit of trouble preventing the friendtalks from firing for romances, too. That would be really annoying, as he'd never shut up.

That's some fast, fast writing Berelinde! another week or two won't matter if you're this close to an alpha release. Get all the gamestoppers out and yuor other testers can look for the itty bitty bugs.
