  1. I love the idea of finesse weapons, it just a shame BG never had anything like that.
  2. Yeah, I went ahead and a, re-doing the install.If I had finished by the time I saw these, that might have been another thing. "Seems silly to me - in the physical sense of “how could anyone actually do that” but OTOH this is good feedback, maybe I could make it optional. " Oh, its 100% silly, and my feedback is entirely from a roleplay perspective and not a mechanical one. Dual wielded bastard swords are just kind of Eillistraee's trademark.
  3. Is thing going to go with tweak mods in isntall order, or with item/spell mods?
  4. I'm not seeing an install order in the readme. What's the recommedned order to install all these?
  5. Oh, it appers to be happening. And here I am 3/4ths thorugh modding BG2. It never fails, haha. I'm still not a huge fan of not being abe to dual wield bastard swords or katanas with the overhaul, though. Playing a darksong knight and not being able to dual wield bastard swords feels wrong.
  6. Maybe the fairie fire one can be "Ghost Light"? "Wisp Glow"?
  7. Number 2 is rather interesting. But I'm also a sucker for animal companions.
  8. Now this bug sounds incredibly cursed. Oh, now I'm mildly concerned about losing features, haha. Imho, the proficiency skill thing from scales and balance is a bit better alternative.
  9. I'm getting the "scrolls into keys" thing happening as well.Also the anti-troll sword from SoD is now ammuntion.
  10. I'll second Sirene as an excellent example of an "exotic" npc that does not overshadow charname at all. Her story even acting as a good parallel to chanrame, while making sure charname has the spotlight. An interesting example of an npc that really flirts the Mary Sue line, but remains grounded and flawed enough to not quite get there, is Aura. Gnome with a special thief kit that worships Gond but also lived in Kozakura for awhile. Iirc, they are essential two npc ideas that got merged together. She has unique gear as well. Its an odd case of doing a lot of very "dangerous" things with your npc and risking them being mary sue attention grabbers, but I think is saved by the writing. Out of their element and on the back foot, etc. I don't know the general consensus on her, but I quite like Aura.
  11. I come bearing a potential bug report! It looks like the Ranger/Thief is missing. Confirmed with another person that they do not see it either. I've also pulled up nearinfinity and its not showing up in the class list either. I'm on version 5.3.4.
  12. There's also like, 2-3 different recommended install orders depending on which readme you're lookng at.
  13. Good to know. I went ahead and checked BG2, and NI loaded it up jsut fine. So yeah, sometthing with my install is weird. If I find the same issues on BG2 with kit spells, I'll post again.
  14. Would a component to pick which UI you use in a SoD installation be something doable? I do lik SoD's UI, but the blue stone is just so good.
  15. So, funny thing. Yesterday, nearinfinity stopped being able to open save files for some reason. I have no idea what would have changed, but I'm in SoD now, and when I install BG2 here soon, I'll double check to see if its just an issue with my current install for some reason. As for the kit spells, I have them all working now except elegist. The other kits seem to be working as intended.
  16. In both my BG1 playhtroughs with Breagar, the talk to start the arm quest triggred just after crossing the bridge that is the entrance to the mine fort.
  17. Oh! Okay, sorry. A talk with him should trigger after you leave the Cloakwood mines. Right around the entrance to the outside fort iirc.

  19. Okay, having issue with Bard kits. None of them are getting their unique spells (Meistersinger not getting any druid spells, for example). I'm on Linux and mods are installed with winescript. Might and Guile is version 5.3.1. Weidu log attched below. Siege of Dragonspeear version 2.6.6.0 Okay, I did a bit more messing around, and its being inconsistent with me. Sometimes the class spells will appear in the magic bar after a few seconds, but often times not. They never show up in spell book (they did last time I played this mod, may have changed I guess?). Sometimes the class spells only show up after casting a memorized spell, sometimes they appear after resting. The Elegist specifically is only getting a single class spell, even after leveling up with the console, resting, and casting something. The meistersinger and jinxer are getting their spells after a rest or casting a memorized spell. WeiDU.log
  20. Is there a list of current Paladin and Ranger kits somewhere? The only readme I can find is from 2019.
  21. Well hot dog! Thanks so much! The reason is that I am technocursed and I can't get weidu to run on its own. So this is a workaround until I get it figured out.
