  1. No, that was a typo on my part! Well, to a certain extent that was actually intentional. I was really playing with the otherworldliness that you can get from both elves and illusionists, so part of this is that I was trying to write a character who is, in her own way, every bit as alien and detached from reality as someone like Haer'dalis. I may need to make that more explicit in the non-romanced path, but it's not something that's likely to change. Oh, it's not just because of you. I do have a quest in the Underdark written out and have been trying to decide whether to implement it or not for a while. I erred on the side of caution, but an encounter with another Dragonlance elf would make some of what's going on here much more concrete. No worries. I appreciate the criticism. I'm definitely open to suggestions right now, but I've learned that my mods tend to die stillborn if I don't go public with them as soon as they're in finished form. (That would have happened to Isra if not for K'aeloree, and did happen to a mod I wrote afterwards.)
  2. Thank you for your comments! You're right that the Planar Sphere is a perfect place for some sort of scenery dialogue--I'll need to add that in for the next version. Your first point is a bit trickier. Though you know, what with that throwaway line about Krynnspace, I was originally planning on an actual quest revolving around the spelljamming drow and an escaped Silvanesti wizard so that Evandra could get access to that planar shift spell. I dropped it because, like you said, it did feel contrived for Dragonlance characters to start showing up everywhere, but that is definitely something I could add back in easily enough. (Of course, a less contrived alternative would just be to utilize the Solamnic Knights more, which is something I've been considering as well.)
  3. Well, we can always get around the problem manually. If you open up the mod folder, you'll find a subfolder called "scripts" instead. You can drop the file I've attached inside there and it will overwrite the file that's causing you trouble. bgee.baf
  4. Thanks for handling this, Artemius. (There are a couple minor issues I need to fix, but I saw 20 responses here and was momentarily very worried, hahaha.) Do you know if there's any way to check for pre- vs. post-v2 versions of EE? Though maybe forcing people to update is the better option...
  5. You know me well. Actually, I have been working on and off on a Spanish translation, but I haven't figured out any efficient way to do it yet. If I write the mod in both languages simultaneously, then I have to rewrite them both over and over again, and if I wait until I'm done with the English, then translating it later is just a marathon. So... probably in a later version. Thank you! And yeah, elven crossmod is definitely a priority at this point--I know people like their all-elven parties, haha.

  8. Any problems, please feel free to report them here.
  9. Q: Where do I pick her up? A: Evandra can be found in the Planar Sphere, just inside the sealed door. Unfortunately, this does mean you will need to take on the quest to recruit her, but this is where the Dragonlance characters are. Note that she will only show up prior to Chapter 4. Q: Is there ToB content? A: Yes, there is. Q: What happens with the Knights of Solamnia? A: The Mage Stronghold option of returning the Knights of Solamnia to Ansalon has been deactivated, though protagonists of all classes will eventually be able to resolve their situation. Q: Is there a quest? A: Yes, there is an encounter that will take place in the Underdark. Q: Any chance to make her a regular mage? A: I don't think so. Illusionist is written all over her character, and Necromancy makes sense as a prohibited school for any elf. Q: Is she voiced? Yes, she is fully voiced. Q: Is there a romance? A: Yes, she's available as a romance option for male elves with an Intelligence of 12 or higher. All alignments and classes are acceptable. Q: Only elves? Really? A: For the moment, at least. I wanted to try a race-specific romance and it makes the most sense given the character. Q: But I hate romances! A: Evandra was initially conceived of as a friendship rather than romance mod, and that is still the primary focus. The friendship track consists of 13 dialogues that take place before heading to Spellhold, and a protagonist will need to explicitly show interest during the last talk to trigger a romance later in the game. You will not be shortchanged if you choose not to. Note, however, that the default friendship track will no longer be available once you leave Amn. Q: How do I start the romance? A: Make sure you complete the friendship track before heading for Spellhold. During the last talk, you will have the option to explicitly show interest. She'll tell you to ask her again in a decade, but things will evolve in Chapter 4. Q: Are there any class or race combinations will more content? A: Elves have the most unique content, though mages have a little bit as well. Q: How does she get along with the other NPCs? A: She doesn't have serious conflicts with anyone, though the closest she gets to one is probably with Neera. She doesn't particularly care for the knightly personalities either. She has 2-5 banters with each NPC in SoA and one banter a piece in ToB. Haer'dalis, Jaheira, Valygar, and Viconia have the most content, and Cernd, Hexxat, Jan, and Korgan the least. Q: Will there be crossmod? A: Yes, she will be signed up for the Crossmod Banter Pack at some point.
  10. Meet Evandra, an elven illusionist, and for those familiar with the Dragonlance setting, a Red Robed Wizard of High Sorcery. She can be found inside the Planar Sphere, trapped alongside the Knights of Solamnia, and will be more than willing to join forces with you to try to solve the puzzles of the place. Evandra is the quintessential stranger in a strange land, though this is by no means a new state of affairs for her. She is True Neutral in alignment, and pretty comfortable dealing with people on all sides of the spectrum, though she doesn't have much use for either good or evil in general. Expect both her illusion magic and her elven background to have a strong influence on her character--Evandra tends to bring a bit of a strange, detached perspective to matters. Information Name: Evandra Gender: Female Race: Elf Class: Illusionist Alignment: True Neutral Biography: When asked about her past, Evandra laughs and points out that very little she could say about Ansalon would mean much of anything to you. She claims to come from an elven kingdom called Qualinesti, though the way that she speaks about it would suggest that she is not on the best of terms with her people. She has considerably more to say about her status as a Wizard of High Sorcery, a prestigious title by all accounts, and one that she admits will take some effort to do without. You get the impression that she is somewhat conflicted about what it might mean to find herself in a new and unfamiliar world. Stats STR 12 DEX 16 CON 10 INT 18 WIS 13 CHA 14

    Evandra

Evandra is a True Neutral elven illusionist, and for those familiar with the Dragonlance setting, a Red Robed Wizard of High Sorcery. Given her elven background, her alignment in some senses represents a fall--a significant departure from what she had at one point expected out of life. Evandra can be found inside the Planar Sphere prior to Chapter 4, trapped with the Knights of Solamnia. She is immediately recruitable. Please note that the Mage Stronghold option to return the Solamnics to their homeworld is no longer available, though players of all classes will be able to resolve their situation eventually. This mod includes: A new illusionist NPC for BG2 Content for SoA, ToB, and BG2EE Voicing and background music Banters with the original Bioware NPCs An extensive friendship path A unique romance for an elven male protagonist Some additional content with the Knights of Solamnia Interjections and commentary

  14. Heh. My main problem with TOB may very well be that it's so high level, I just haven't figured out how to play it. Been meaning to get through it this summer during Bar study downtime, but I can barely even roll a high level spellcaster without getting flustered trying to choose the best spells.
  15. Given the likely time-line involved, I'd prefer getting SOA first and waiting on TOB. (Which I almost never play anyway, so lack of TOB content isn't much of an issue for me personally. Those for whom it is an issue are going to have to wait one way or the other anyway.)
  16. No, Yasraena was not romanceable. Of the ones listed above, Xan, Darian, and Faren have TOB content and therefore epilogues, and Arath and Haer'dalis will have it sooner or later as well. There's also Gavin, who has TOB content now too. And Sarevok obviously does also. But you really should try some of these before saying that there aren't any romanceable male mod NPCs out there. I can't tell what your type would be without knowing why you like Tsujatha and why you don't like Kivan, but I'd be happy to help you figure it out via PM if you want. =) Kelsey made me like Anomen! I need to (finally) play through TOB sometime soon anyway, and I think I'll grab the Sarevok romance for that. I try not to read the dialogue files and spoil myself for Aeryn's stuff, but I fail miserably. Constantly. And on topic, I'm seconding the question of whether Aklon will just be an SOA release at first.
