Improved Final Battle scs1 bugged.

ive just reached the end of bg1, using easytutu (the beta of the new version) with scs1 v8 and so far apart from the already reported daevorn being too easy problem, i haven't had any problems what so ever until now that is..

 

upon entering the final area for the battle, i get the sarevok dialouge, and then after that i move in, he comes at me i attack, i use detect invis and the only people who show up are semja and tazok, angelo is nowhere to be see, not only that both of them just stand there.. doing nothing, i can run up and kill him easily and then they turn into the skeletons those too do nothing and just stand there being killed..

 

sarevok is the only one who actually goes into attack, but he is unkillable, i spent nearly an hour trying to kill him, he was down to "near death" quite quickly.. i reloaded to enable to cheat console to test ctrl-y on him and that wont even kill him, totally unkillable, also none of the traps that are usually within the area are there any more.. not sure what the problem is but it must be scs, as i uninstalled the improved final battle portion of the mod and re-entered the area and things acted like they should (default bg wise anyway, tho the improve mage and better ai stuff is still working, so at least its a little bit of a challenge) and sarevok was killable once again..

 

i kinda feel cheated now, as i was expecting a harder then normal end fight on par with the rest of scs, hopefully theres a work around or something i do to fix this i really would like to try the scs final battle.

the only mod i have that i can think of that does something at the end of that battle or as scripts in that area is bg1npc dynahier romance, which i have been playing through, no idea if that would effect anything however.

 

also that's my current weidu log as of now, with improved final battle uninstalled which i mentioned i did last night.

another thing i may as well mention while im here, is sarevoks coronation, when everyone turns into a greater doupleganger they all cast horror at the same time and it seemed to bring everything on screen to a halt, even tho sounds still played and then the screen juttered back into sync, happend everytime, tho it may also be because i was using the wand of monster summoning just before they all turned, but oh well.

I have had this problem as well. After posting on SHS forum it looked like some possible conflict between BGT and SCS1.

 

It happened like this-

1)Entered Ducal Palace and Sarevok gives part of his speech about killing minions (from end battle). I had killed Tazok earlier in the bandit camp.

 

2)On entering final battle Sarevok and cronies stayed blue but attacked. Only Semaj and Tazok showed up - not the other two that usually dimension door in. Sarevok won't die, period, because he has that minhp ring and his dialogues won't proceed normally.

 

I solved this by checking a couple of posts here and at SHS.

 

1)You must use CLUAConsole:SetGlobal("SPRITE_IS_DEADTAZOK","GLOBAL",0) - I used this before I entered ducal palace.

 

2)During the end battle kill the minions, have the dialogs, then cntrl-q Sarevok into party. Clua to any temple, kill him, then raise dead on him. He then gives his last speech and dies normally.

 

I had tried modifying the BGSarvok.bcs according to directions from SHS but that didn't work (it changed the way globals were set). Only the way explained above worked for me and allowed me to talk to Belt and finish BG1.

Thanks for the info, buts its not quite the same problem as mine, well almost, semja and tazok are both red circle they just don't move, and angelo is nowhere to be seen, I've tried a full reinstall of everything in scs but still no go, I'm not using bgt however I'm using easy tutu, well actually the beta of the new version out next month, I'm starting to think that maybe the transfer from bg1 to bg2 spell system might have done something? i doubt it but anything is possible.. i don't like fixing the problem via the method above though, doesn't flow right to me just clua'ing everywhere to get a problem fixed.. if i have to ill just settle for vanilla final battle.

 

I can finish the game and kill sarevok and his minions and everything works as it should do without the improved final battle when i uninstall that component, however after all the challenging battles I've been through the final battle in vanilla mode was very anti-climatic.

oh my god, maximus2001 you were right, it WAS tazok!

 

his sprite is dead global was set to 1, i set it to 0 and tried the battle, and to my utter surprise it actually worked, tazok started to attack i used detect invisible and semja attacked too in scs style, and then angelo popped in and another new guy! and got new lines of dialogue from sarevok before he utterly killed my entire party due to me not expecting it to work and thus not being prepared :D

 

i guess we got to the bottom of that then, pretty surprised tho it was just the sprite is dead tazok thing causing it.. very strange but at least we know now if anyone else gets experiences this :(

 

so to clarify how this happened, i roleplayed bg1 so i took kivan to the bandit camp and had him kill tazok, but as we all know sarevok brings tazok back to life at some point after chapter 3, i guess the game doesn't set the spriteisdead to 0, or it just glitched out in my game, well im super happy right now :D

oh my god, maximus2001 you were right, it WAS tazok!

 

his sprite is dead global was set to 1, i set it to 0 and tried the battle, and to my utter surprise it actually worked, tazok started to attack i used detect invisible and semja attacked too in scs style, and then angelo popped in and another new guy! and got new lines of dialogue from sarevok before he utterly killed my entire party due to me not expecting it to work and thus not being prepared :D

Oh, okay... it's that problem. I thought it was fixed but possibly the fix doesn't work for BGT.

 

This took me ages to fix in the original TUTU - I hadn't realised that BG1NPC allows you to kill Tazok.

well the version im using is easytutu, i figured the original and this were the same cept for an installer but maybe i was wrong.. but yeah bg1npc needs a global change some point after killing tazok maybe but that's for another section of this forum i think :(

No, it's my problem, not BG1NPC's, and it's perfectly fixable in SCS - I just thought I'd fixed it. Evidently not.

We could add a timered block too, DavidW... please let me know, and I can add it. Not every mod on EasyTutu and BGT will have your expertise or consistent updating, so if BG1NPC can fix the problem inhouse then we can make sure that at the start of the appropriate chapter Tazok's variables are all reset the way they should be...

Is there a way to fix this in game via script editing? I am not much for reinstalling for 14 hours.

 

I never sought that option of Kivan killing Tazok early, as I felt something would go wrong. But if I do choose it, how can I set that back so Tazok will be back for the final battle? Without CLUA, since I am very keen on fixing my game locally.
